Arrow wrapped up its final season this past January, stamping the conclusion of a solid series. It stayed consistent throughout airing on the CW, minus a couple of dull seasons. What stands out most about the Arrow series is undoubtedly the characters.

Oliver Queen was played to near perfection by Stephen Amell, and the supporting cast continued to rally behind him every time he needs them. With that said, Arrow is also home to a vast assortment of villains. When you have a great hero match up against a great villain, there is usually always one scenario that pans out at the end; they fight.

Let Fans Down: Oliver Vs Malcolm Merlyn:

In season 4, episode 13, Oliver and Merlyn face off on a rooftop. Merlyn is (at this moment), the leader of the League of Shadows. The problem with this fight is that the fans all knew what was going to happen. Oliver is too good at the point of this fight to feel any threat the entire fight. Oliver blocks every attack and easily deflects an arrow shot by Merlyn, showing that even when Malcolm tries to cheat, Oliver remains in control.

Best: Arrow Vs Prometheus

In season 5, Episode 16, Arrow faces off against Prometheus. Prometheus is arguably one of the coolest looking villains in the entire show when in his full gear. Not only that, but he is a very skilled fighter. When they face off in episode 16, the fight quickly turns into a brutal fistfight.  This fight is the best in the season by far and even contains a few surprising moments in it as well.

Let Fans Down: Arrow Vs Diaz

While comparing the eight seasons of Arrow, most can agree that season 6 is one of the dullest. In Season 6, Episode 23, Arrow faces off with Diaz, the main villain of season 6.  The problem lies with how weak the season is. Fans were let down by the entire season, therefore, the final fight did not mean a great deal.

Best: Arrow Vs Malcolm Merlyn:

This fight was unique because it contained the two best archers going head to head, testing their skills. Season one had to make a colossal statement, as any season one of any show should. With Merlyn being a fantastic choice for the first season's villain, Arrow succeeded. Throughout the first season, Oliver is trying to grasp what it means to be a hero and improve his skills. By season eight, he could quickly kill Merlyn if he wanted to; however, this fight took place in season one. Merlyn gives Arrow all he can handle during the first season, making the finale so enjoyable. Arrow is able to overcome adversity for the first time, claiming the throne as the best archer.

Let Fans Down: Corto Maltese

Perhaps one of the strangest episodes of Arrow is Season 3, episode 3. Oliver and Diggle head to Corto Maltese to try to convince Thea to come home. What is odd about this episode is the action scene with Oliver, Diggle, and Roy.

It feels as if the show felt it needed to force action into the episode. To make matters worse, Oliver pulls out a makeshift bow, that appeared to be from a bedpost. This episode left fans feeling confused and tempted to fast forward past it.

Best: Ra's Al Ghul Vs Oliver

In season 3, episode 9, Oliver faces Ra's Al Ghul for the first time. Ra's is known and respected as the best fighter around. If someone had the honor of being trained by him, they were immediately respected as a top-notch fighter. He has gained the respect of honor from so many. This fight was looked at by fans as the toughest feat yet for Oliver. Taking place on the best fight location in all of Arrow, Ra's and Oliver face off. Oliver is given two swords, Ra's is given nothing. Then Ra's says one of the best lines in the show, "I will take your blades once you are through with them".  Ra's toys with Oliver at first, but remains in control. In the end, Ra's stabs Oliver twice and kicks him off the cliff's edge, breaking the Arrow.

Let Fans Down: Arrow Vs Damien Darhk

Damien Darhk is undoubtedly an exciting character. Unfortunately, his magical abilities do not fit well in the show. Arrow is more of a dark, crime-filled show.

Introducing a magical element just felt a bit strange. Because of the odd choice of a villain, the fans feel disappointed during every fight between Damien and Oliver.

Best: Arrow Vs Slade Wilson:

Slade and Oliver standing on the Island in Arrow

Slade Wilson, or Deathstroke, is arguably the coolest and best-written villain in the series. That is what makes the fight in the season two finale between Slade and Arrow so amazing. With fans marveling over how great of a character Deathstroke is, they undeniably wanted to see him face off against the green archer. The fight did not disappoint either. Inter-cutting between the very first fight they had on the ship, and the current fight, the fans received a special two-for-one. Watching the two best characters in the Arrow show will rarely ever disappoint.

Let Fans Down: Arrow Vs Prometheus

Arrow Prometheus with his team on Lian Yu

In the season five finale, Oliver and his team head to Lian Yu to find Prometheus. Fans were excited due to how well the story had been in season five thus far. Unfortunately, the fight itself was rather disappointing. They fight a total of two times on this island, the first being when the Arrow team face off against Prometheus and his goons. The fight itself is okay; however, we see very little of Prometheus and Arrow. The scene cuts between every member of Arrow's team as they fight a few goons, returning to Oliver's fight very little. In the end, Oliver fails, as Prometheus escapes

The second fight is even worse (if it can even be considered one). As Prometheus escaped their showdown roughly thirty minutes before, he is not on a speedboat with Oliver's son. Oliver catches up to Prometheus and leaps onto his boat, taking Prometheus out with a quick blow. With such a well-crafted story that season 5 had going, the fans would have loved to see a better fight between the hero and his foe.

Best: Arrow Vs Ra's Al Ghul

In the season 3 finale, the greatest showdown in all of Arrow takes place. As stated before, Ra's is one of the most intimidating and best fighters in the show. Reminiscing on what happened to Arrow earlier in the season, fan's hearts sink to the floor when they knew Oliver was going to face off with Ra's once again. While assuming that Oliver was going to win, fans had a substantial doubt that maybe he wouldn't make it out of this one. Not only does Arrow beat Ra's after a valiant effort by both, but he kills him. Oliver deciding to kill Ra's is huge because Oliver does not kill. Ra's was Oliver's toughest fight, and he knew if he let him live, it would not be easy to stop him again.
