Producer Marc Guggenheim reveals plans for the Arrow bunker the CW series couldn't afford. After eight seasons on the air, the superhero show ended its run earlier this year. The series stands out from other similar shows on TV in that it kick started the massively successful Arrowverse, currently made up of four other shows. All of them have come together for several crossovers over the years, including this season's Crisis on Infinite Earths. During it, the heroes worked together to defeat the Anti-Monitor, creating a new multiverse in the process.

Unfortunately, the victory didn't come without sacrifice, as Arrow hero Oliver Queen lost his life. However, the Arrowverse is still strong in the wake of his death and Arrow's series finale. This is partly because Crisis on Infinite Earths opened up the Arrowverse's world in a way it never had before. Now, fans know that several DC TV shows and movies take place in the same multiverse, even those on other streamers and networks. Though only the Arrowverse shows, as well as Black Lightning, now take place on Earth-Prime, it's still interesting to know shows like DC Universe's upcoming Stargirl are only an Earth away.

Recently, Guggenheim has taken to Twitter to share behind-the-scenes secrets from Arrow, including script pages of deleted or re-purposed scenes. This week, he instead shared a video of a model for a massive three-level bunker that never came to be. In his tweet, Guggenheim explains the show "couldn't afford to build" it. The bunker played a huge role on Arrow, providing a safe haven and training space for Oliver and his team of vigilantes. Check out Guggenheim's video below:

Though Arrow's ending marks the end of an era, many are looking ahead to the characters' futures on The CW and beyond. Oliver Queen actor Stephen Amell revealed recently he has no plans to return to the Arrowverse. However, other characters, including Mia Smoak, Dinah Drake/Black Canary, and Earth-2 Laurel Lance/Black Siren, could be back in the fall. Their spinoff series Green Arrow and the Canaries is still in contention for a series order. There's also a chance audiences will see John Diggle again, as the series finale teased a potential turn as a Green Lantern. However, Arrowverse leader Greg Berlanti is currently working on a Green Lantern series for HBO Max, so Diggle's possible return wouldn't happen on The CW.

Though the massive Arrow bunker never became an actual set, it's still interesting to see what it could have looked like as a three-level entity. The bunker as it exists on the show is already quite large, so it makes sense an expansion wasn't in the show's budget. The bunker also suffers a lot of damage over the course of the series, often needing to be put back together, meaning money was likely already going to it in that way. Arrow may be over, but at least fans can revisit the series through behind-the-scenes videos like this one.
