Arrested Development's Tony Hale Shares Season 5 Set Photos

Arrested Development main cast

Arrested Development actor Tony Hale, who plays Buster Bluth, shared some fun set photos of the long-awaited season 5 from Netflix.

It's been a long time coming, but a fifth season of Arrested Development is thankfully on the way. Thanks to Hale, portrayer of our favorite hook handed little brother, fans can finally get a glimpse of the set, as production for the Netflix-bound season is now underway.

The photos that Hale shared through his Twitter account should certainly please some longtime fans of the sitcom, with references to the show's in-jokes throughout.

Hale shared a photo of the chairs for himself and actor Jeffrey Tambor, who plays dual roles of Buster's father-uncle George Bluth Sr. and his uncle-father Oscar Bluth. This photo comes a day before Amazon Studios began an investigation on sexual harassment claims towards Tambor - no word yet on how, if at all, this will affect production on Arrested Development.

Next, we got a look at the infamous Bluth stair car, unfortunately the family's primary form of transportation. Believe it or not, the last time we saw this stair car was not in Arrested Development season 4, but as an Easter egg in Captain America: Civil War. The Russo Brothers not only directed the most recent Captain America movies, but the pilot episode and several other early episodes of Arrested Development. Now you know where the Russos' tendency to use handheld shaky cameras comes from.

Here's a look at the clapperboard being utilized in the production. Again, we see the iconic stair car as a sticker on the board, along with Bluth bananas and a sticker of Lucille awkwardly attempting to wink.

The most recent photo that Hale tweeted was a selfie of himself and co-stars Alia Shawkat and Michael Cera, who portray Maeby and George Michael respectively. All three have been busy on their own projects as of late, with Hale winning an Emmy Award for his role in Veep, Shawkat starring in TBS's Search Party and Cera, of course, being a bona fide movie star.

Hale will certainly have a large role in the fifth season as Buster - when we last left him in season 4, Buster was the latest family member to be arrested, being accused of the apparent murder of Lucille 2 (Liza Minelli). We know that season 5 will take the form of a murder mystery, playing off of fellow Netflix program Making a Murderer.

And it should be comforting to fans to see the cast members together - season 4 had mixed reviews due to the separation of the characters, which each episode of the season focusing on a different member of the Bluth family. This was primarily due to the busy schedules of each performer, all of their careers taking off after the initial cancellation of the show. Luckily, we also know that the Bluth family will be together for most of the forthcoming season, so we can look forward to our favorite dysfunctional family members at each other's throats again when Arrested Development returns.
