Ahead of Super Bowl Sunday, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Zeus in a teaser commercial for BMW. Previously, the legendary star shared a poster on Twitter in which he is cast as the Greek mythological god. Schwarzenegger shared the mysterious picture without providing any further context or details of the project, leaving many to speculate as to what it was for.

Schwarzenegger is an icon in Hollywood, known for his roles in The Terminator, Predator, The Expendables series, and many others. Schwarzenegger was also a former governor of California, serving two full terms from 2003 to 2011. Along with this current Zeus project, the actor has been involved in ongoing productions like the Twins sequel Triplets, The Legend of Conan, and Kung Fury 2.

Now, in contrast to the initial speculations of a feature film, BMW USA has officially revealed footage of Schwarzenegger as Zeus in a teaser commercial. In the ad, a cafe barista is calling the Greek God’s name to claim his macchiato order, unintentionally mispronouncing the name as “Zayus” and “Zoice.” As the barista continues to mispronounce the name, Schwarzenegger enters the scene correcting the pronunciation and the barista asks if his name refers to the Greek God of lightning, with Schwarzenegger responding, “It’s exactly like that.” Watch the full teaser video below:

When Schwarzenegger first broke the news of the upcoming project on Twitter, many fans were excited about the possibility of Schwarzenegger starring in a film as the son of Kronos. Around the time of Schwarzenegger's tweet, fans were also petitioning for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to play Kratos alongside Schwarzenegger in a God of War film after Johnson announced being involved in a video game adaptation. Super Bowl commercials have featured many iconic celebrities and have grown their production value of their ads over the years. In 2020, Aquaman star Jason Mamoa was featured in a hilarious mortgage commercial with him peeling off his muscular body as if it were a costume.

Many viewers look forward to watching the Super Bowl for its commercials alone, as the ads become more engaging and entertaining for audiences. Although the teaser only provided a small preview of  Schwarzenegger’s portrayal of Zeus in the BMW ad, it is now officially known what his mysterious Zeus poster was hinting toward. Fans can tune in when the ad appears on February 13, during the Super Bowl game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams.
