The official trailer for Army of Thieves will drop tomorrow. The movie is a prequel to Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, the Netflix zombie heist movie that came out in May. Set six years before the events of the original film, Army of Thieves takes place during the initial stages of the zombie apocalypse, and it focuses on the early days of Ludwig Dieter's safecracking career. Dieter is hired by an enigmatic woman to pull off a heist alongside a disparate group of thieves. The film is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, who returns to play Ludwig. Although Snyder isn't at the helm, he is still attached to the movie as a writer, as well as an executive producer.

Army of Thieves has been in development since well before Army of the Dead released its first trailer. The movie, which was announced alongside the anime prequel series, Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas, marks the expansion of Snyder's new multimedia franchise on Netflix following the success of his original film. Recently, a brief snippet of footage from Army of Thieves was released during a Comic Con@Home panel in August. The teaser revealed an October 29 release date for the film, at the same time confirming the genre to lean toward romantic comedy. Now, the film is ready to drop its full-length trailer.

Snyder took to Twitter to announce that the official trailer for Army of Thieves will be released tomorrow (September 25). The footage will be unveiled during TUDUM: A Netflix Global Fan Event, which will stream on Satuday beginning at 9 am PST/12 pm EST. As per the schedule of the event, the Army of Thieves panel is set for hour three, meaning that fans should expect the trailer to drop sometime around 12 pm PST.

Although Army of Thieves is a prequel movie, it's largely standalone in nature. While zombies still exist in the world, they aren't the main focus of the film, which canonically showcases how the onset of the outbreak led to disruptions in financial institutions. At one point, Deborah Snyder, wife of Zack Snyder and co-producer on Army of Thieves, compared the movie to The Italian Job. She explained how the zombies tie into the equation and how the film is different from its source material. Still, there is a lot still to learn about what the movie has to offer, and fans are also yet to catch the cast in action, including stars Nathalie Emmanuel, Guz Khan, Ruby O. Fee, Stuart Martin, Jonathan Cohen, Noemie Nakai, and Peter Simonischek.

With only a day left until the trailer arrives, the anticipation for Army of Thieves is surely at its peak. After the enjoyable blockbuster that Army of the Dead was, fans are keen to know what's next in store for them with the franchise. A standalone prequel movie has always sounded as an exciting prospect, although some fans are skeptical about the deviation from action to rom-com. True, Snyder has assured everyone that the new genre is just as fun and thrilling, but fans still need to watch the trailer to be satisfied. Hopefully tomorrow all doubts will be cleared, with the Army of Thieves trailer breaking the internet.
