"Nothing happens on this job, and when it does, you don't want a camera around," Carpoza told Lawson, and he was right. Except when something started happening, he never understood what he was up against until after he died. That was the fate of most of the people that arrived at the scene in Army of The Damned.

It wasn't exactly the best horror film of all time but it wasn't without lots of interesting and unforgettable quotes. With lots of laughter and reflection to go around, Army of The Dead is one of the most diverse horror films ever made.

We Are The F****** Backup: Jackson

Tony Todd As Jackson

These were the last words Jackson said to Earl before joining the very army he was called to help defeat. The backup is what Bridge and everyone else at the scene was waiting for except when it came, it didn't help the living.

Jackson (Tony Todd) wouldn't listen to the sheriff and wasn't willing to believe that he was dealing with something bigger than dirty cops and drugs. When Earl advised him to proceed with caution and call for backup, he assumed that it was just another scared civilian.

Looks Like We Got Some Action: Bridge

Sully Erna as Sheriff Bridge

Sheriff Bridge was only trying to please Kayla when he talked about needing some action in the town. He was only hoping for something like a bank robbery, a knife fight, or a car chase but going against zombies wasn't on his shopping list.

Everyone in the town was complaining about nothing interesting ever happening in their town until that call came. That is why the sheriff's words about finally getting something to do were so captivating. It was officially the beginning of the film.

At least You Get A Little Action For Your Girlfriend Over There: Griffith

Joe Siriani As Griffith

Griff was one of the most interesting characters in the film although he didn't last long enough to watch the saga end. He was a father figure to Bridge and his team but he wasn't prepared for the fight against the dead.

He, however, noticed Bridge's interest in Kayla, he understood that he was really eager to play hero for her. It was the first time Bridge was told that Kayla was his girlfriend, not knowing she was actually the villain using him to do her dirty work.

... If She Fired That Gun, She Got The Guy: Sobecheck

Tom Paolino and David Chokachi in Army Of The dAMNED

Sobecheck was an interesting man to watch as he never seemed to take anything seriously. He seemed like an arrogant guy at first but when he admitted that Lawson was a good officer, it was awesome. He obviously had some toxic masculinity as he said that "Lawson was a girl and all but she could shoot."

The only problem was that whoever Lawson shot at could not be found. It was good to know that she put up some fight before she died though.

None Of This Splitting Up Bulls***: Griffith

Seargent Griff Meets The Dead In Army Of The Damned

Griff freaked out the most when he realized they were dealing with mysterious forces that he had never handled before. He was obviously not prepared for such an enemy but his reaction was just too hilarious.

Instead of being Bridge's wingman, he became his burden. It was like he realized he was in a horror film and whoever split from the group would be the first to die. It was sad when he was the first to split from everyone and die though.

I Could Totally F****** Bolt Right Now: Donald

Nick Principe As Donald In Army Of The Damned

Donald was the funniest man in the film always finding a joke in everything. It wasn't clear what he was arrested for but whatever it was, he wasn't even worried about its consequences. The most interesting part was his reaction to Griff refusing to uncuff him so he could take a pee.

Then Griff died right behind him and he didn't notice. He had the chance to escape to the comfort of his mom's couch and some breakfast but he chose to face death all because the cops would rearrest him if he bolted anyway.

We Could Use A Couple Of Bad Guys In This Town: Carpoza

Army Of The Damned, Tommy Dreamer

This is the quote that seems to have summoned the devil. Like Bridge, Carpoza was also hoping for some action because, well, only good people lived in the town. Funny enough, he was saying that while handing out a parking ticket, which seemed to be the only crime he had witnessed all day.

The only problem is that the bad guys he finally got to handle were too hard even for him. He was a focused and protective officer until he died and joined the bad guys.

Son, I Can Buy Lenses Like Those At CVS For $9.95: Jackson

The Black Eyes In Army Of The Damned

Jackson was the least likable character in the film as he didn't seem to understand that something could be worse than dirty cops. When he was told that the police force had turned into an army from the underworld, he insisted it was meth or other drugs.

The worst of his arrogance came when he refused to believe that Carpoza's blackened eyes were not normal. Assuming that Carpoza's corpse was nothing but lenses and that the playback on Dave's camera was drugs was the beginning of the end for the would-be cavalry.

We're The Quick And They're The Dead: Jackson

Michael Berryman and Tony Todd In Army Of The Damned

That was probably the most hopeful statement Jackson gave in the film except it was over-ambitious. He failed to listen to Crazy Earl and Bridge dismissing them as cowards.

The quote was also paradoxical because the damned were way quicker than Jackson and his squad. When he got into the house, he didn't take down even a single zombie. In the end, he was "the dead while they were the quick."

Takes A Lot Of Juice To Get All The Way From Hell: Donald

Donald VS tHE dEAD IN aRMY oF tHE DAMNED

The strange screeching noise and the lights going on and off are the main things that made the film so disappointing. There was no explanation for the sudden blinding lights and the noise because if it was just the power, they could easily cut the power supply and make the battle even.

Donald's take on it was the most hilarious one though. While everyone was worried about the dead backup and the strengthened army of the dead, Donald could only think about how hard it must be to die and come back to life.
