Here's every song in the Army of the Dead soundtrack and when they play. Set in Las Vegas, Zack Snyder's 2021 Netflix movie stars Dave Bautista as a mercenary who battles against zombies while trying to pull off a casino heist. The Army of the Dead soundtrack uses Elvis Presley classics for a throwback feel, along with a couple of well-timed covers that capture the inherent surrealism.

Army of the Dead focuses on the immediate aftermath of a zombie outbreak. When the military fails to intervene, the government quarantines the city. A business mogul named Bly Tanaka (Hiroyuki Sanada) recognizes an opportunity to steal $200 million from The Olympus vault, and offers $50 million to mercenary Scott Ward (Bautista) to orchestrate the heist. The group encounters a breed of intelligent zombies known as Alphas, who are seemingly willing to let the casino robbers pass through without any conflict. However, the beheading of a zombie Queen leads to absolute chaos, which makes the task at hand especially difficult.

The Army of the Dead soundtrack consists primarily of recognizable mainstream hits. For example, the unmistakable voice of Elvis opens the film and later scores some key moments. An Elvis classic is also covered by the musician Richard Cheese, who is best known for songs in Dawn of the DeadBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeThe Lego Batman Movie, and the 2021 movie Barb And Star Go To Vista Del Mar. Snyder's film also includes a moody cover of The Doors' 1967 single "The End," and also a famous song by The Cranberries that works as a thematic exclamation point to close out the film. Here's every featured song in the Netflix movie Army of the Dead.

Army of the Dead on Netflix

Army of the Dead hits the right note early on with "Suspicious Minds," a beloved Elvis song that plays while newlyweds enjoy themselves outside Las Vegas. Less than 10 minutes later, "Viva Las Vegas" kicks in during a credits montage that shows zombies wreaking havoc; a subversion of the song's celebratory message. During Mikey Guzman's introduction, "Si Señor" is used as background music for a YouTube video, and then continues playing when he's recruited by Scott Ward.

Shortly after Ludwig Dieter's introduction in Army of the Dead"Bad Moon Rising" foreshadows impending doom for Scott Ward and company. Ten minutes later, "The End" similarly teases some heavy drama, albeit with a dream-pop aesthetic (which makes it seem less dark than the original). When the lights literally come on at The Olympus, "Night Life" by Elvis is symbolic of a reawakening for the main protagonists.

In Army of the Dead's final act, "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" works as a wink-of-the-eye track as Scott Ward and Lily stress out in an elevator. The composition "Götterdämmerung, WWV 86D: Act III Scene 2: Siegfrieds Trauermarsch (Siegfried's Funeral March)" also scores a moment when Ludwig Dieter unlocks The Olympus vault, which is known as "Götterdämmerung." Later, when Vanderohe makes his escape, an acoustic version of "Zombie" sums up the events of the film. Army of the Dead closes out with another use of "Suspicious Minds" over the credits.
