A batch of photos leaked earlier this week showing off previously unveiled Justice League Mortal costumes, but Armie Hammer says that the photos, which include a Batsuit, actually don't feature the final Batsuit that was supposed to appear in the movie.

Justice League Mortal is one of the great superhero movies that never came to be. Mad Max's George Miller was due to unite the world's finest heroes in the late '00s while the DCEU as its unofficially known today was several years away from happening. Featuring an all-star cast of Hammer, Megan Gale, Adam Brody, and many others, Justice League Mortal pulled moments straight from the pages of the acclaimed JLA: Tower of Babel, as well as other comics, and the animated Justice League TV show. Obviously, front and center of the ensemble was Hammer's Batman. And while it's believed that Hammer's Batsuit has finally been revealed, the actor says that's not exactly the case.

Taking to Twitter, The Social Network star assured fans that picture that featured the entire cast of characters wasn't quite the finished product:

Perhaps the biggest hint that Hammer is right about the costumes is the fact that stand-ins were used instead of the actual cast. Megan Gale is reportedly the only actual Mortal cast member featured in the image, and as Hammer notes, Green Lantern was supposed to be black.

The image making the rounds online is of pretty low quality, leaving a lot to the imagination when it comes to the Batsuit. However, alongside a previous look at Batman and Superman concept art, it's easier to slowly piece together what Hammer could've looked like as the Dark Knight. Appearing more like Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman outfit from Batman Returns than Christian Bale's Batman from Batman Begins, some fans have expressed their disappointment with the revealed look. At least Hammer confirming this isn't the actual Batsuit he was due to wear might hush the critics for now.

Given that Mortal was canned just moments before filming was due to start in Australia, Hammer would definitely know what he was supposed to wear as the Caped Crusader. Sadly, while there has been a recent flurry of activity around the movie - including a long-awaited look at D.J. Cotrona as Superman - it's unclear if audiences will ever get a look at Hammer's finished Batsuit. Although Miller's version of Batman sounds like an interesting take on the character, and was due to feature a steampunk-style exoskeleton, Hammer has since come out and said he's glad Justice League Mortal never happened, so don't expect him to be jumping back in the Batmobile any time soon.
