Since the announcement that the next installment of the Batman: Arkham games, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, has been delayed until next year, it's a good time to take the opportunity and dive back into the Arkhamverse through a replay of the previous games and downloadable content.

With nearly the entirety of Batman's rogues' gallery tangled into the multiple games spanning a large portion of the Dark Knight's career, it's fun to compare who has which zodiac traits, and exactly how these villains use these star signs to make Arkhamverse's Gotham a nightmare.

Aries- Ra's al Ghul

Ra's al Gul stands with a sword, ready for a fight.

If hopes that his storyline will continue in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League pan out, Ra's al Ghul's reign as Arkham's quintessential Aries will continue. While effective leaders, Aries can sometimes put themselves first. As Demon's Head and leader of the League of Assassins, al Ghul is known to do this by his hoarding of the Lazarus pit's power.

Passionate, powerful, and determined, Aries focus on getting things done their way. That's why Aries like Ra's al Ghul don't believe in losing. They find a way to end up on top of every situation, even if it means defying death.

Taurus- Oswald Cobblepot/ Penguin

The Penguin in Batman: Arkham City.

Taurus is a sign dedicated to luxury and pampering. While most people in the Arkham games aren't known for either of those traits, Oswald Cobblepot has dedicated his life to living in luxury- through criminal means, of course. Stubborn to a fault, Taurus follow through on their actions until it's impossible to do so anymore.

This can leave Penguin in the middle of some sticky situations, like having the GCPD and Batman breathing down his neck. Loyalty is incredibly important to Taureans, and so Penguin won't tolerate anyone turning their backs on him. Partnerships and organization are of the utmost importance to Taureans like Penguin.

Gemini- Basil Karlo/ Clayface

When it comes to transformative signs, Gemini has the most flexibility and transition ability. There are several characters that have taken the Clayface name in DC Comics, but Basil Karlo's Clayface is the most notable due to his prowess with transforming and using his acting ability and transmutable physiology to imitate and replicate others. Karlo’s actions are almost always in search of his next role.

Like Karlo, Gemini's actions can be interpreted as having hidden agendas when in reality, they're very focused on what they want to achieve. Being ambitious and passionate about many things means Geminis set a lot of goals for themselves, and their multi-faceted personalities will help them reach these goals.

Cancer- Victor Fries/ Mr. Freeze

Mr. Freeze in the Batman: Arkham Origins DLC, Cold, Cold Heart

Relationships are important to Cancers, and no one in the Arkham series is as dedicated to relationships as Victor Fries. This passion and dedication are admirable, but they someimes lead Cancers to occasionally blur the line between "passionate" and “possessive,” although it almost always comes from a place of caring.

Cancers are also deeply private. Much like Freeze's cyro suit, Cancers tend to be most comfortable in spaces of their own, physically and emotionally. It may take time for a Cancer to warm up to someone new, but once accepted, it's a life-long friendship built on trust and respect.

Leo- The Joker

Batman Arkham Origins Joker Introduction

It's no secret Leos are known for their bold personalities. Leos’ traits closely align with the Joker's proclivity for big schemes. One of the threads that tie the Batman: Arkham games together is Joker's fear of disappearing from Gotham’s consciousness, and being forgotten is an insecurity commonly associated with Leos.

Instead, this sign finds a deep sense of joy and pride by surrounding themselves with other successful people, often establishing and taking leadership of their endeavors. Like Joker, everything a Leo does has flair and pizzazz and is about creatively expressing themselves to ensure a long-lasting memory for everyone.

Virgo- Hugo Strange

Hugo Strange uses his genius to develop and adapt new technologies for his schemes. Virgos are known for their intelligence, patience, and dedication to their work. Because of their intense focus on their work, Virgos often have a desire to incite a change in the world. They wish to form it into a more perfect version of itself.

Unfortunately, like Strange, they can become consumed with applying their idea of perfection to the world and overlook the fact that perfection doesn't exist. It's important that Virgos keep in mind that change is internally motivated- they can't force it on others.

Libra- Harvey Dent/ Two-Face

Two-Face in the Solomon Courthouse in Batman Arkham City

Arguably the most underutilized Arkham series villain, Two-Face's quest for justice makes him very much a Libra. A taste for quality and luxury balances with their hard-working nature. There's always a way to balance the scales between working hard and playing hard for this star sign.

Libras are devilishly charming but possess a temper that can flare up at the drop of a coin. They're creative and this enables them to develop new and exciting ideas. This sometimes leaves them at odds with themselves, as their insecurity can get in the way of their honest personality.

Scorpio-Jonathan Crane/ Scarecrow

A focus on the long game of his plans, Scarecrow's multi-layered schemes are full of complications designed to bring the Dark Knight into Gotham's nightmares. Scarecrow's desire to understand and weaponize fear is an example of how easily Scorpio can corrupt its empathetic nature by hunting for power and control.

Featuring the scariest character design of the Arkham Asylum game, Scarecrow falls within the astrological sign that focuses on taking risks that may take time to pay off but will change the world. Scorpios often begin their plans with kind and empathetic intent, as they are very caring and sensitive.

Sagittarius- Thomas Elliot/ Hush

Sagittarius is known for its mutability and adaptability. Thomas Elliot's transformation into Hush shows the kind of modification dedication Sagittarius goes for. They're clever and resourceful, and strive to think outside of the box. They love doing something totally unexpected.

Nothing they do is on a small scale, and Thomas shows this when he tries to steal Bruce's identity. He attended years of medical school, learned everything there is to know about Bruce, and then performed plastic surgery on himself to look just like his victim. Their “go big, or go home” mentality means they take big risks and expect big rewards.

Capricorn-Harley Quinn

Before joining the Suicide Squad, Harley embodied all the fun a Capricorn can have in Arkham. Capricorns appear to be studious and reserved at first glance. It takes time before they open up and admit to their wild and spontaneous ways, often prioritizing their grand plans over a good time.

Highly intelligent, Capricorns struggle at times to express themselves in a way that can be healthily maintained. This means they sometimes bottle up feelings until they burst out or they throw themselves into work to cope. Harley Quinn does this after leaving behind her Harleen Quinzel personality to embrace her freer side.

Aquarius-Pamela Isley/ Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy smirking in Batman Arkham Knight

Even when it's not through the most ethical means, Poison Ivy strives towards fundamental and systematic change and progress, like an Aquarius. The intensity of their convictions can cause Aquarius to have tension rooted in shared stubbornness with some of the other signs, especially when their beliefs are at odds.

Poison Ivy's big plans for Gotham can sometimes leave her overlooking the smaller things in life, making it easy to miss the importance connecting with others can have on the longevity and success of her plans. Aquarians need to remember that the biggest changes start with honest and organic sincerity

Pisces- Jason Todd/ Arkham Knight

The Arkham Knight reveals his identity

The Arkham Knight expresses the duality of a Pisces. Their emotional nature gives them the ability to feel positive and negative emotions extraordinarily deeply. This harkens to the Arkham Knight's struggle between his life as a vigilante or villain when he states that he blames both Batman and the Joker.

Pisces tend to look at things from a very ideological perspective and miss out on seeing things as they are because they're focused on their perceptions. This allows Pisces like the Arkham Knight to be ambitious because there's nothing in their way, but it can also cause frustration when "unforeseen" interferences occur.
