Even today, Friends is the sitcom that other sitcoms can only hope to become with its successful 10-season run and Emmy nominations. It also happens to be a show that enjoys syndication to this day, earning Friends a whole new generation of fans.

From day one, it became clear that Friends became a massive success because of the chemistry among its principal cast members onscreen and behind the scenes. Among them were Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox who played best friends Rachel and Monica, respectively. Even after the show ended, the two women have remained close as these photos show, many of them taken straight from Courteney Cox's own Instagram account.

Jennifer Hangs Out With Courteney And Coco

Around the time that Friends was coming to an end, Cox was pregnant with daughter Coco. This posed quite a challenge for the actress who had to conceal her pregnancy while shooting scenes for the show. In the end, however, everything turned out well. Cox gave birth to a healthy baby girl shortly after Friends’ final episode aired. When Coco was christened, Cox also made Aniston her godmother. Since then, the three have hung out together from time to time as they did in this Instagram post. By now, Aniston has probably also given her goddaughter a lot of helpful career advice too!

Jennifer Attends The Premiere Of Just Before I Go

After Friends, the show’s main cast went separate ways, producing various projects in film and television. Cox herself decided to stay on television with the hit series Cougar Town. Cox also pursued several film projects such as the Scream movies. She also decided to try her hand at directing, making her directorial debut with the movie Just Before I Go. And of course, Aniston made sure that she was present at the film’s premiere to support her dearest friend. From the looks of it, Aniston was very proud of Cox’s work too.

Courteney Welcomes Jennifer To Instagram

It’s no secret that Cox has always been more active on social media than her former Friends co-star. Interestingly, Aniston also opted not to open an account on Instagram until October 2019. To celebrate the momentous occasion, Cox shared this photo of the two women

In the caption, the actress also wrote, “Hi Jen! Welcome to the social media world...it sucks. You’re gonna love it!” As Friends fans know, this was a nod to what Monica told Rachel after they were done snipping her credit cards apart.

They Honored George Clooney Together

Prior to becoming an Oscar winner and a successful writer, director, and producer, Clooney was a television star. And because ER was also on NBC, Clooney got to guest star on Friends. During the 46th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala, Cox and Aniston joined forces onstage to pay tribute to the actor but they also took the time to make fun of him a little bit. Aniston even joked, “Lucky for you, George, we remained on the air on Thursday nights, pretty much paving the way for I’d say every success that you’ve had since then.”

Jennifer Makes An Appearance In Cougar Town

On the show, Aniston played Cox’s therapist who tends to confuse her patients’ histories. With regard to Aniston’s appearance, the show’s executive producer Bill Lawrence explained Cox waited for the show to find its footing first before reaching out to Aniston. “It took us a while to find the show,” Lawrence told People. “And once we did and once it was clicking, I think that not only did Courteney feel comfortable talking to Jen about doing it, but comfortable in how funny she thinks the show is and that Jen would like it and fit into this world really well.”

They Celebrate Fourth Of July Together

Indeed, holidays are more fun when spent with good friends and the Fourth of July is no exception. Back in 2019, Cox posted this photo with the caption, “Happy 4th everyone! I’m lucky to be spending it with so many girls that I love.” As it turns out, both actresses enjoy hosting holiday gatherings. As fans may know, Aniston herself is fond of inviting some of her famous friends over for Thanksgiving. In this regard, they see eye to eye. No wonder, they’ve become very close over the years!

They Dress Alike To Celebrate A Birthday

Aniston turned 51 last year and Cox thought there was no better way to celebrate her best friend by dressing just like Aniston. In this Instagram photo, Cox is shown sporting the same glasses as Aniston. The two actresses even dyed their hair the exact same color and cut.

Meanwhile, Cox may not have copied Aniston’s outfit, but she wore something black, nonetheless. In her post, Cox also wrote, “No matter how hard you might try… there’s only one Jennifer Aniston. Happy birthday my dear friend @jenniferaniston! I love you!”

They Take Vacations Together

One can easily tell actors are friends if they go on vacations together. In the case of Aniston and Cox, they do. Over the years, the women have been spotted traveling together, along with several other famous friends. In fact, Aniston and Cox took a trip to Mexico to celebrate Aniston’s birthday in 2019. They were also joined by Jimmy Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney. Unfortunately, the women experienced a little scare during the trip after one of their plane’s tires exploded. Luckily, the plane managed to make an emergency landing and the women were fine.

Even In The Midst Of A Pandemic, They Found A Way To Reunite

When the lockdown eased a bit, Cox and Aniston decided to reunite. At the same time, the two actresses also thought they would use their influence to deliver an important public message. Cox’s Instagram post started out with a brief skit that features her adorable dogs, Hopper and Harley. After one dog convinced the other to put on a mask, the skit is followed by a photo of Aniston and Cox wearing matching denim masks while posing with Cox’s beloved pets. Cox may not have captioned the post but it clearly shows the importance of wearing a mask.

They Watched The Emmys Together While On Lockdown

The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on everyone, including Hollywood. Several movie productions got delayed and in the world of television, some shows were forced to end their season early. As for the awards shows, there were some, such as the Emmys, that decided to push through despite the current situation. However, the event had to be held virtually with guests appearing from their homes. And when Aniston appeared on the show through a video feed, it turned out that Cox and fellow Friends alum Lisa Kudrow were also with her. The women even joked that they’ve always lived together.
