A new trailer has been released for Archer season 12. The adult animated show was created by Adam Reed (Frisky Dingo) for FX. The show premiered in 2009, with eleven seasons having aired thus far. Ever since 2017, new episodes of the show have been airing on their FXX branded network. The show follows title character Sterling Archer (H. Jon Benjamin), who is a covert black ops. However, his shenanigans often interfere with the espionage part of the job due to his crazy adventures with other secret agents.

Season 11 returned to being more about the spy agency after Sterling Archer awakens from a long coma. However, everything is different from how he remembers it. The news of another season was announced back in October 2020. The Archer season 12 release date of August 25, 2021 was more recently confirmed. The first two episodes will debut on that date with the remaining six being released weekly thereafter for a total of eight episodes.

Archer has received high praise from critics and audiences over the years. Additionally, the show has won four Primetime Emmy Awards and four Critics Choice Awards, among other respected honors. The show has become well-known for its pop culture references and quick-witted dialogue that is self-aware of how meta it is. The upcoming twelfth season appears to be continuing with the strong sense of humor that critics and fans have enjoyed so much over the years.

The new trailer hits all of the right notes of big action set pieces and great comedy. It brings back the familiar central characters that fans love so much. It's clear that the show is keeping up with a mix of pop culture and humor based on social/political commentary that the show generally manages to balance well. Unfortunately, season 12 will mark the last time that audiences will get to hear Jessica Walter's voice as Malory, given that Walter passed away in March 2021. She already recorded most of her lines, although it hasn't been confirmed what the show plans to do with her character. It's exciting to be getting another season of Archer coming up, but hopefully Malory is given a respectful exit from the show.
