Archer is notorious for its dynamic main characters that band together for wild spy shenanigans. But even though the regular players are hilarious on their own, the series introduces many supporting characters each season. These new faces may offer a villain for the main cast or another comedic relief figure, but there are some supporting characters that are more underrated than others.

These underrated characters are often overlooked for only starring in a few episodes, making small cameos, or because they don't seem to stand out among the main cast. However, they prove that they are just as funny as the main cast and that they are crucial to the overall story.

Burt Reynolds

One of the most hilarious supporting characters introduced to the Archer universe is Burt Reynolds. Archer has a fanboy obsession with Reynolds and constantly quotes his films — until Reynolds enters his life as Malory's boyfriend. This upsets Archer, but Reynolds proves to be the perfect addition to the show because of his quick wit and fighting ability.

Playing himself, Reynolds' appearance was hilarious for viewers because it further highlighted Archer's obsession with the actor and gave Malory a compelling love interest. Even though he only appeared in one episode, Burt Reynolds was an underrated supporting character that deserved more credit.

Brett Bunsen

Brett Bunsen waving and smiling in Archer

Making his first appearance in season 1, Brett played an important role as comedic relief. Brett is an employee at ISIS and interacts with the main group often. He is shot multiple times, mainly by Archer, and is treated as a proverbial punching bag by the main group.

Even though he is mainly used as a bullet magnet, Brett is an underrated character. He doesn't offer much dialogue during his time on the series but proves his importance through the number of laughs he garners. Brett is eventually killed off in season 5, but he still proved to be a valuable character in the first half of the series as he was an Archer character with a high sense of mortality.

Conway Stern

Conway Stern is introduced in season 1 and despite only being in a few episodes, he makes a big impact on the series. He is a double agent that ISIS originally hires, but he double-crosses them and loses his hand to Lana and Archer. Conway reappears randomly throughout the series but always plays the villain.

Even though his appearances are so fleeting, Conway's antagonistic behavior helps make him a memorable character. Conway is also important because of his double-crossing behavior, as his true nature is completely unknown to viewers.

Tiffy

Tiffy piloting a plane in Archer

Despite only starring in two episodes, Tiffy stands out as an important supporting character. She appears at the end of season 4 and is the girlfriend of Cecil Tunt, Cheryl's brother. Tiffy is piloting the helicopter that takes the main group to the underwater laboratory in order to stop a bomb threat. Tiffy and Cheryl notably argue during the former's time on the show and even get into a physical altercation.

Tiffy's character is underrated mainly because she only stars in the series for a few episodes, but she proves to be valuable by being a villain to Cheryl. Ironically, the two have similar characteristics and in different circumstances, seem like they could even develop a friendship in Arhcer.

Noah

Noah made his first appearance in season 3 after Archer is captured by pirates. Noah explains the basic etiquette of being a pirate to Archer and teaches him how to become a new pirate king. He also becomes Archer's first mate after he becomes pirate king until they are able to make their escape.

Even though he is often forgotten in the series, Noah played a crucial role in helping Archer. He made a massive impact during the first three episodes of season 3 and even helped Archer make his escape from the pirate island. Noah also reappears in season 9 during Archer's coma dream years to help him out.

Ron Cadillac

Ron Cadillac is introduced as Malory's husband in season 4. He owns multiple Cadillac lots and seems to have lots of money, but Malory and Archer think he is extremely boring. However, Ron redeems himself when he tells Archer about when he used to be a car thief.

Despite not starring in the series for a long time, Ron fit in well with the main group and was a memorable husband to Malory. Ron is often treated like an underrated character, but he played an important role because of his assistance to the gang, his bond with Archer, and his moments of comedic relief.

Lucas Troy

Lucas Troy and Sterling Archer in Archer

Lucas Troy makes his first and last appearance in season 4 after he faked his death in order to leave the spy world behind. Archer doesn't believe that he is really dead and comes to help him, only to find out that Lucas is sexually attracted to him.

Lucas' time on the series was short, but it was clear that his friendship and love for Archer were prominent. Flashbacks during the episode also further explored Lucas and Archer's closeness, making Lucas one of Archer's first friends on the series. Lucas also proved to be an intelligent Archer character by expertly faking his own death.

Trinette McGoon

Archer and Trinette McGoon in bed together in Archer

Appearing in season 1 as one of Archer's favorite hookups, Trinette proves to be a stand-out character right from the start. Trinette and Archer spend a lot of time together and she even helps Cyril train to be a successful spy. Trinette also ends up having a baby, which is believed to be Archer's but is actually Cyril's. She also returns in season 8 during one of Archer's coma dreams.

Trinette is underrated because she is often overlooked by the main group. However, she has a matched comedic prowess and plays an important role in Archer's life.

Rip Riley

Rip Riley is hired by Malory in season 3 after Archer goes missing for three months. Rip successfully finds Archer and attempts to return him to Malory, but the pair are captured by pirates. They are eventually rescued, and Rip isn't seen afterward.

Even though he only stars in a handful of episodes, Rip proves to be a tough character that can stand up to Archer's wild behavior. Rip also shows his value through his fighting ability and former spy training.

Cecil Tunt

Cecil Tunt is Cheryl's brother and is entitled to half of the Tunt family fortune. The pair have a strained relationship, mainly due to Cecil's girlfriend Tiffy, and rarely speak. Cecil makes his first appearance in the series when he helps charter the ISIS gang to the ocean to stop a bomb threat.

Cecil is a valuable character because of his opposite personality to Cheryl's. He has enough money to start various businesses but proves to be a horrible businessman. He also makes an additional appearance in season 8 during Archer's coma dreams.
