Since Arcane: League of Legends hit Netflix, fans of the game, or viewers in general, have been hitting Reddit and talking all about what they loved about the show, what they didn't like about the show, and what they expect in the upcoming season.

Some fans wish to see some changes or additions to the series when the next season is released, whether it be about character development or background about the locations. These opinions may not be that popular with the fandom, but they speak some truth.

Caitlyn Needs Her Own Goals

Vi and Caitlyn were two very different characters who complimented each other well. They were tastefully introduced, giving them time to bloom into, what fans speculate, will be the best ship of the series. However, Caitlyn is one of the best Arcane characters who needs some screen time for herself.

Caitlyn proved she was a great fighter with a brilliant mind and a compassionate soul. In the first season, it did seem like she was mostly chasing around Vi and trying to help her with her problems instead of focusing on goals of her own. RedStormFlower on Reddit said, "I love the Violyn ship, but Caitlyn needs more interactions with other characters and a driving goal uniquely her own. I want to see the ship develop in S2 but not be the main focus."

Silco Was Not A Good Father To Jinx

collage of Silco and Silco and Jinx

Silco took Jinx in when she was a young girl and became a fatherly figure for her. Even though it seemed like he was doing it out of the kindness of his heart, he isn't a good guy, and everything he does seems to have ulterior motives. He really wasn't a good "father" to her at all.

The humanity still left in Silco might have actually cared about Jinx, but he still seemed to use her for his own gain most of the time. Tb1969 said on Reddit, "To his daughter, he is a concerned, attentive father. The problem is that he is an immoral and unethical role model and guardian. Consider that he gave her a job in his violent drug empire after she accidentally killed her adoptive family. His advice for her mental issues is essentially just-snap-out-of-it-Jinx, forget-it-Jinx."

More Proof Of Piltover's Exploitation Over Zaun Should Be Shown

collage of Piltover and Zaun

The show did well to show the major split between Piltover and Zaun, and viewers see Caitlyn and Vi try to speak to the council about it. Unfortunately, it isn't entirely obvious how much Piltover is exploiting Zaun, how they are responsible for the conditions, and why Zaun would be better off without them.

It's hard to include every little detail into a 45-minute episode, but considering the politics were a big theme in this first season, it would have been nice to see more proof. Reddit user, actually-potato said, "I think the show is really missing an example of direct Piltover exploitation of Zaun, which would lead to the extreme stratification we see in the show."

Jayce Is Overly Hated

Jayce was one of the main character focuses and actually became one of the most disliked characters of the season because of his naive and narrow-minded personality. A few fans agree that his character is actually very misunderstood and stands as one of the most realistic humanly characters.

Jayce was constantly struggling to make big decisions and put under a lot of pressure to get it right. Even though it seemed annoying to see him whine about his problems, that made his character that much more human. RedStormFlower said, "I don't think any person in the series is fully right or fully wrong in what they want to do, and he captures the struggle of trying to do right so well. Rather than taking things into his own hands, he actually listens to others, which I find admirable."

Ekko And Jinx Should Not Be A Ship

collage of Ekko and Jinx

Ekko and Jinx became a major ship for fans based on their interactions as kids growing up together and their supposed chemistry on the bridge during their fight. However, this ship seems a little loosely based, and fans who ship them are not putting all the facts together.

Linlee1000 on Reddit explained, "She, by proxy of Silco, helped spread shimmer in Zaun and create chaos. Those Firelights that Ekko is protecting are the byproduct of what she helped create. He only hesitated in the end because Vi somewhat convinced him a tiny bit that Powder was still in there. If it weren't for Vi, he really would have killed Jinx. And that's my point. He loved Powder, not Jinx."

Heimerdinger Is An Underrated Character

collage of heimerdinger

Heimerdinger was the perfect example of a wise and knowledgeable scientist but an older politician with out-of-date views. Many fans seemed to look down on him because of his stingy attitude, but he did see the potential danger of the Hexcore before anyone else and proved he was willing to see differently.

Heimerdinger was an immediately underrated character, perhaps because he didn't look as cool as the other characters or have their fighting abilities. However, his wisdom and experience made him one of the most powerful characters in Arcane. Reddit user Nuklear132 said, "I think he’s a wonderful example of how experience and wisdom aren’t necessarily always the best qualities in a leader, and I especially loved the scene where after he gets kicked off the council, he gets a chance to see how bad the Lanes have gotten due to the neglect of Piltover’s elite."

Jinx Shouldn't Turn Back Into Powder

Collage of Jinx or Powder

As the show progresses, we see the evolution of Powder into Jinx and just how different she becomes. Some fans would like to see her redeem herself and become Powder once again, while others argue that Powder is long gone and Jinx wouldn't be Jinx if she were to have that redemption moment.

Rude-Joke4531 on Reddit said, "I don't think they should turn 'Jinx back into Powder.' Or give her a 'redemption arc,' Jinx being a chaotic person is part of what makes her character so good." While some might not like Jinx's chaotic and hyper, new persona, that ultimately makes her a unique character. Her uniqueness is why so many fans love her so much and have created extremely detailed Jinx cosplays in their support of her.

There Are Plotholes With The Hexcore Inventions

Collage of Viktor and Jayce and Hexcore inventions

A big theme of this season is the Hex crystals and Hexcore. These mystical and magical gems are still shrouded by so many mysterious and unknown, because of this, there does seem to be some plotholes in how Viktor and Jayce even know how to research and work with them.

Reddit user Rough_Moment9800 brought a fair point when they said, "Neither of them are mages, as far as we know there are no mages in the Academy as well, yet they are making research using rune magic. In a real world you would expect at least a single consultant from the related field assisting with the research. I get how they could engineer the laser hand, gauntlet and a hammer just by experimenting with hex gems, but what were those calculations on the blackboard in the hexcore room if neither of them are experts on runes?"

The Soundtrack Is Overrated

The soundtrack for Arcane made the show a whole new experience and did help portray certain emotions while watching. However, it was a bit overhyped and overrated as an album outside of the show.

There were some great songs created that fit perfectly into the moments of the show, but listening outside of the show, they just aren't the same. User Letharlynn explained in his opinion, "I don't like the songs in Arcane soundtrack. They work perfectly within the show itself, but they are carried by the emotional impact of the moments they play in rather than the opposite."

Mel And Jayce Actually Make A Good Couple

Collage of Mel and Jayce

A lot of fans didn't like the relationship between Mel and Jayce, but it could be said that they have one of the best relationships in Arcane. They felt Mel was too controlling and simply using Jayce for her own agenda. It could be argued that Mel is simply a strong woman who isn't afraid to be authoritative and voice her beliefs.

Jayce and Mel actually compliment each other perfectly with their differing personalities. It could be argued that it seemed like a toxic relationship but they made up for each other's faults. TerrisKagi explained, "Mel needs someone, preferably a peer, who will listen to her to make up the void of her family disowning her and Jayce struggles when he doesn't have a firm hand leading him. Despite all the hatred, they're actually really good for each other."
