A new Aquaman trailer is one the way - but what time will it release online? With Venom now in theaters, there's only one superhero movie left for 2018: Jason Momoa's solo outing for Aquaman, which sees Arthur Curry finally taking up the mantle as King of Atlantis.
The first Aquaman trailer released at SDCC, giving audiences a proper look at the (seven) worlds James Wan has created, although did get some flack for incredibly questionable CGI (a Hall H exclusive footage reel was reportedly much better). Since then, there's been the lingering question of when we'd get to see more. With the film just over two months away, we're more than due one, and while it isn't coming alongside Venom or at NYCC, it looks like we can indeed expect a trailer this week according to a tease from Wan and Momoa.
The director and star of Aquaman have teased something will come today, Friday, October 5. This is most likely a trailer. The bigger question is when exactly it will release. As this doesn't seem linked to a TV show (such as Captain Marvel on Good Morning America) or an NYCC (while Aquaman and Shazam! will have some Con presence, neither has a dedicated panel), an online-only drop seems probable. Going by previous Warner Bros. form, the trailer is sure to drop on the hour in the morning U.S. time. Further, going by the time of the tease, we expect the Aquaman trailer to drop at 9am PST/12pm EST/5pm BST. This time isn't set and it could be any hour prior, but this is both the latest it would be and the most likely slot.
There is, of course, yet to be confirmed that what Wan and Momoa are teasing is actually the Aquaman trailer, although it would make sense. While it misses out playing in front of Venom this weekend and must contend with NYCC hype (although that's mostly focused on TV shows), it puts it in line to play before First Man next week and is the right timeframe (assuming a third trailer when tickets go on sale).
As for what we can expect from this new Aquaman trailer, the big thing is Arthur Curry in his comic accurate suit. This has been teased since SDCC and is at the center of the new poster, meaning WB is ready to show it to the world. Hopefully, there'll also be more of villains Ocean Master and Black Manta, although the main thing will be a look at the improved effects.
