A brand-new toy from Funko offers fans their first look at Willem Dafoe's Vulko in DC's upcoming Aquaman. While the release of Aquaman is still over a year away, fans have been lucky enough to get plenty of looks at Jason Momoa as the undersea hero. After the reveal of the actor in his full costume back during the initial announcement for Justice League, we saw a brief glimpse of Aquaman in action during Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. From there, the various Justice League trailers and posters have further highlighted the hero, leading up to plenty of on-set shots of Momoa as filming for his solo film has commenced.

Despite all the focus on Aquaman, however, little is know about the rest of the upcoming film's cast. Like with Momoa, set photos and videos have offered a few looks at Amber Heard in costume as Mera. While promo shots for Justice League and the film's first trailer showed her in armor similar to what the future Atlantean king wears, her Aquaman outfit will be much closer to the comics. Beyond Mera and Arthur Curry, though, we've only had brief teases of the other characters in the film—until now.

A Twitter user got their hands on one of Funko's Mystery Minis figures for Aquaman, which provides the first look at Willem Dafoe's character. He'll be playing Atlantean scientist Nuidis Vulko, but with a DCEU twist.

While the figures features are exaggerated in typical Funko style, you can still see how much has changed from the comics. With a slimmer physique and a flowing head of hair, this Vulko barely resembles his comic counterpart. He's also wearing armor similar to what we've seen highlighted on Momoa, Heard, and in a recent set photo. Though Vulko doesn't usually wear armor, he's certainly donned it before in the comics. And while the plating and color are quite different from the source material, they fit with Aquaman's established aesthetic.

We can also see that Vulko will not be unarmed. While Vulko has participated in combat before, he's not known as a fighter. It looks like the DCEU take on the character will be given a more confrontational nature—and with an actor like Dafoe in the role it's easy to see why. Luckily, fans won't have to wait much longer to see Dafoe as Vulko, because the character will be making a cameo in Justice League before next year's film.

Dafoe, of course, isn't the only big name actor in the film. Nicole Kidman will be playing Aquaman's mother Atlanna, while Dolph Lundgren will portray Nereus. While we don't know much about either character in the world of the film, director James Wan has already begun singing Lundgren's praises. Hopefully, fans won't have to wait much longer to see some footage from Aquaman and judge for themselves.
