Aquaman 2 actor Patrick Wilson has shared a video of himself training for his role as Orm. Jason Momoa's half-human, half-Atlantean superhero Arthur Curry joined the DCEU in 2016 when the character appeared as a guest in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Later, Momoa reprised the role in the ensemble project Justice League, before finally landing a solo feature under the direction of James Wan. Aquaman explored Arthur's origins and saw him accept the role as the king of Atlantis. For the DCEU, Aquaman proved to be a bonafide hit, a fun and entertaining blockbuster, that became the franchise's first instalment to cross the $1 billion mark at the box office. The smashing success impressed WB, and hence a sequel was put into development soon after.

At the moment, plot specifics for Aquaman 2 - which has been officially been titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom - are being kept under wraps. That's mostly because there is a full year before the movie actually premieres, and it only just begun filming. Still what is known about the movie is that it will feature several returning characters, including Amber Heard's  Princess Mera and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Black Manta, who since been promised a bigger role. Wan's Conjuring 3 collaborator Patrick Wilson is also among those returning. He will reprise his role as the Ocean Master King Orm.

Patrick Wilson has been preparing quite hard for his comeback in DCEU. He shared a glimpse of his preparation for his upcoming role, demonstrating how hard he has been training. In the workout video where Wilson can be observed doing some heavy weight-lifting, the actor revealed that he was been exercising strenuously for the past 3 months. Wilson also gave a shoutout to his trainer for helping him get ready for Aquaman 2. Take a look at the training video below.

Over the months, Wilson has kept fans posted with all the updates pertaining to his role in the forthcoming superhero feature. Earlier he explicitly confirmed that although he is returning to Atlantis, he won't be the main villain anymore, rather his character would be incorporated in a different way into the new story. In Aquaman, Wilson's Orm was defeated at the hands of Arthur Curry in a fierce battle. But instead of killing him, Arthur chose to spare his half-brother's life. Orm was subsequently hauled away to a prison beneath the waves, thereby leaving the door for his return open.

One thing that Wilson's new workout video has made clear, is the actor's commitment to his role in the franchise. Hopefully, this dedication on the part of the actor would work wonders for Aquaman 2, and also win him the recognition and acclaim he deserves. Moving forward, it's not necessary that future DCEU films would also be able to include Orm in some viable capacity. Hence DC should figure out a way to give the character his own chance to shine. A possible way to this is through a dedicated spinoff series. DC has lately been generous in giving compelling characters like Peacemaker shows of their own, so it should also consider doing the same for Wilson's Ocean Master.
