Amber Heard's Aquaman 2 prep continues as she shares a video of her latest workout. Heard will return for her third DCEU outing in Aquaman 2, where she will once again play Princess Mera. As Arthur Curry's (Jason Momoa) ally/love interest, Heard first joined the franchise in Justice League before receiving a much larger role in 2018's Aquaman. The James Wan-directed film was a box office smash when it arrived, and a sequel was put into development not long after. Despite that, though, Aquaman 2 will debut four years after its predecessor.

Plot specifics for Aquaman 2 are still being kept under wraps, though Wan recently revealed the movie's full title: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Momoa and Heard are both set to return for the film, along with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Black Manta) and Patrick Wilson (Orm). So far, the only newcomer confirmed to appear in Aquaman 2 is Pilou Asbaek (Game of Thrones), who joined the cast in April with an unnamed role. The past few months have seen the film's main stars start their training ahead of production commencing.

Earlier this week, Heard shared a short video of her new training regimen, which involves weights and lunges. "Abs-olutely dying!" Heard wrote in the caption, which also confirmed this is for Aquaman 2. This is the latest training glimpse the actress has shared, having kicked things off back in April. You can see her post down below.

Even beyond training, Heard has shared several looks at her Aquaman 2 prep. Earlier this year, rumors swirled suggesting Warner Bros. had fired Heard amid her legal issues with ex-husband Johnny Depp. However, those were later debunked, and the actress has remained a key part of the Aquaman 2 cast. As her various social media posts have shown, she's very excited to play Mera once more and is taking her training seriously. Though it's been several years since the first Aquaman, Heard stepped back into the role last year for Zack Snyder's Justice League reshoots, so Mera must still be fresh in her mind.

Last month, Momoa confirmed filming on Aquaman 2 will kick off in July, so Heard's hard work is nearing its payoff. Now that the title has been revealed and production is inching closer, more details about Aquaman 2 could be revealed in the coming months. There will be another DC FanDome event this summer, which would be a prime spot to unveil things like new castings and early plot details. For now, though, fans can comfort themselves with the knowledge that Aquaman 2 is about ready to begin, and its cast is very ready to get started.
