Apple's new Watch Series 6 offers up several new watch faces, allowing users to personalize their watch to their needs and personality. With watch faces like the new Typograph or Memoji watch face, users have the freedom to customize their watch to a design that matches their aesthetic. Watch faces like the GMT or the Count up allows users to use their time most efficiently. The Apple Watch Series 6 also allows users to design their watch face to best fit their preferences for work or hobbies, like adding a list of appointments so they won't be forgotten.

Apple's watches have always had a variety of watch face designs, and allowed for a lot of customization. This has helped make Apple watches more personal to the user, since they can choose their preferred watch face and change them out as needed. For some users or occasions, a more simplistic or minimalist face might be best while, for others, having the option to match the watch face to band might be important.

Apple revealed its new watch face lineup at the September Apple Event. With Apple Watch Series 6 there are seven new watch faces to choose from. All of which are unique and add more customization features. Several of these new watch faces allow users to customize the design, color scheme, and themes. Some of the other watch faces move more toward traditional and efficient designs to better measure time. Apple even teamed up with Geoff McFetridge to create a new 'Artist' watch face in the artist's style.

Choosing A New Apple Watch Face

The first watch face Apple revealed was the 'GMT' face which is designed to show multiple time zones at the same time, as well as calibrating itself based on the current location. The second face revealed was the 'Count up' face which allows users to track time. Based on racing watches, the 'Chronograph Pro' face allows users to access multiple time scales including a tachymeter which measures speed. While the 'Typograph' face provides more customization than the previous watch faces, with the option to change numerals to three different styles with four different scripts.

Apple's collaboration with artist Geoff McFetridge resulted in a watch face that changes every time the user raises their wrist, adding more flare to this artistic face. Then there's the 'Memoji' face that makes it easy to add a user's Memoji to their Apple watch. Each one will move and react to the user's touch. Finally, Apple revealed the 'Stripe' watch face, providing an option for even more customization, including changing the color, amount, and orientation of the stripes.

These new watch faces add to an already vast amount of options and can all be customized to some extent, with the exception of the Geoff McFetridge watch face. Along with a new line of watch faces Apple has also created new tools to allow developers to create new specialized watch faces in the future. Of course, some watch faces also come with specific and useful benefits. For example, apps like Notable to view appointments on the watch face or apps like Lumy to track the sun's position and display. Now, with the latest round of faces, the options to customize an Apple Watch have grown even further.
