Pride Month is right around the corner, and as Apple has done for the last few years, it's celebrating with two new watch bands and a watch face for the Apple Watch. In the nearly eight years since the first Apple Watch was released, Apple's gradually outfitted its smartwatch with a large collection of watch bands and watch faces to choose from. No matter what style/aesthetic you're aiming for, chances are you can find a band and face to suit it perfectly.

Along with launching new bands and watch faces with its latest Apple Watch model in the fall, Apple regularly does smaller updates throughout the year to keep the lineup fresh. Sometimes these new additions are just new colors for existing watch bands. Other times, Apple puts deeper meaning behind them. In 2021, for example, Apple released watch bands and watch faces in honor of Black History Month and Pride Month.

And 2022 looks to be no different. After launching the Unity Lights watch face and Black Unity Braided Solo Loop this January, Apple has now unveiled its latest collection of watch bands and faces for its 2022 Pride Month collection. In a press release from May 24, Apple says, "Apple is proud to build on its long-running support for LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations working to bring about positive change, from Encircle, an organization that provides life-affirming programs and services for the LGBTQ+ community and their families, to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people."

Apple Watch Pride Threads watch face for Pride Month 2022

Starting with the new watch bands, the first one is a Pride-themed Sport Loop band. The band has white edges with rainbow colors from different pride flags throughout the entire length of the band. The back of the band also has a nice touch, spelling 'Pride' in the same cursive style as the famous 'Hello' greeting on the 1984 Macintosh. And Apple didn't stop with just one Pride band this year. Also available is the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop, which pairs the rainbow colors with a sleeker black frame for the watch band.

And, of course, it wouldn't be complete without a new Pride watch face. This year's watch face is the Pride Threads one. It's designed to mimic the woven threads of the Pride-themed Sport Loop watch band while "each strand of vibrant thread contributes to the overall composition of the watch face." And like other watch faces, the threads on the Pride Threads watch face interact with how you use your Apple Watch — including when you tap the display, move the Digital Crown, or raise your wrist to look at the time.

Apple is rolling out the Pride Threads watch face right now to anyone with an Apple Watch Series 4 or later. If you're interested in the new watch bands, both the Pride Edition Sport Loop and Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop will be available starting today for $49 each.
