Apple's all-new iPhone 14 devices not only offers many impressive features, but they're also available for purchase in several colors. Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 lineup in Sept. 2022 at its 'Far Out' event, where the company also announced a plethora of other devices, including the Watch Series 8, Watch Ultra, Watch SE (2022) and AirPods Pro 2. While the Watch Ultra is a new rugged smartwatch with high-end features for the outdoorsy types, the rest are the successors of existing products launched over the past couple of years.

As for the iPhone 14 lineup, it is an upgrade over the iPhone 13-series and should compete with the latest smartphones from Android vendors like Samsung and OnePlus. Like the last couple of years, this year's iPhone lineup also has four different models, including the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The one model missing in action is the 'mini,' which was ditched in favor of the 'Plus' in keeping with market demand.

The iPhone 14 lineup comes in several shades, but the available options differ based on the actual models. While the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are available in Starlight (white), Midnight (black), Blue, Purple and Product Red, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are available in Gold, Silver, Space Black and Deep Purple. In both cases, Purple is the new option that was unavailable with the iPhone 13 lineup. However, the 'Deep Purple' shade of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max is a bit darker than the purple hue of the vanilla iPhone 14. As for Product Red, it contributes to Apple's CSR cred, with the company donating a portion of the proceeds from every Product Red purchase to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

Best iPhone 14 Color

The new colors for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro.

While colors are a matter of personal preference, there are a few things to remember when opting for one over another. The Midnight (black), Starlight (white) and Space Black options are clearly for people who'd rather blend in than stand out, meaning they are perfect for people who want to be subtle about their color choice. Black is one color that never goes out of style, while white would be the ideal choice for people who want to match their iPhone with their all-new AirPods Pro 2 (or any other AirPods for that matter).

At the other end of the spectrum, Product Red and Purple (or Deep Purple) are for people who want to stand out for their color choice. With Product Red, buyers are also contributing positively to a social cause, while Purple is clearly the color of the season. Before Apple, it was Samsung who introduced the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, and the Galaxy S22 in the so-called Bora Purple hue, so a purple iPhone 14 will be perfect for those who want to be at the cutting edge of fashion. As for Gold, Silver and Blue, they have become staples in the Android universe over the years, meaning they'll not necessarily make the iPhone 14 users stand out from the crowd.
