Apple has officially confirmed the date of its upcoming hardware event, with the company set to announce its latest round of products on April 20. This latest event is being referred to as 'Spring Loaded,' and a heap of new Apple gadgets should make an appearance during the presentation.

The lead-up to the first Apple event of 2021 has been an interesting one. It was initially believed that Apple was going to announce new products in March, with multiple sources claiming the March date was a go. March came and went, and as fate would have it, an Apple event never happened. Fast forward to April, and Apple has now confirmed that it's finally ready to show off what it's been working on.

Apple confirmed that its next hardware event has the nickname of 'Spring Loaded,' hinting at the spring season and the company jumping forward with its new products. It's a bit cheesy, sure, but it's also in typical Apple fashion. The show begins on April 20, 2021, at 10:00 AM PDT / 1:00 PM EDT, and as per usual, it will be live-streamed on Apple's website. Similar to last year's Apple hardware events, this will likely be a pre-recorded video that Apple has stitched together ahead of time.

New iPad Pros, A Redesigned iMac, And AirTags Are Expected

As for what announcements are expected from the Spring Loaded event, it should be a pretty action-packed presentation. Something that seems to be all but guaranteed at this point is the new iPad Pro models. Numerous reports have indicated that Apple will launch its next-generation iPad Pro lineup in April, including updates to the 11-inch and 12.9-inch variants. In addition to a faster processor, better cameras, and upgrades to the USB-C port across both sizes, the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro is also expected to use MiniLED display technology for richer and more vibrant colors.

Another product that will almost certainly be announced is AirTags. These are Apple's Bluetooth/UWB trackers that can attach to everyday items for easy tracking in the Find My app. AirTags sound like direct competition for the likes of Tile and Samsung's Galaxy SmartTags, and assuming they don't cost an arm and a leg, they'll likely be the new go-to tracking gadget for anyone that has an iPhone.

Something else to keep an eye out for is a redesigned iMac. Apple is reportedly planning one of the biggest iMac redesigns ever for 2021, and in light of the iMac Pro being discontinued last month, there's reason to believe that new iMac hardware is coming soon. There's also ample evidence to suggest that Apple is working on AirPods 3, and while the new earbuds may make an appearance on April 20, the latest reports have indicated they've been pushed back to later in the year.
