The iPad Air 5 is an exciting new tablet with plenty of upgrades, and something that is always fun about this device is that Apple offers more colors for it than other iPad models. There's something for everyone, from the calm and reserved neutral tones that work well for business to more exciting and fun colors. But, of course, the office doesn't have to be boring, and a colorful iPad might be exactly what's needed to make a statement that there's more to life than reports and forms. The satin finish looks great in any color, and the iPad Air 5 is a powerful tablet with good accessory support.

With work-from-home becoming such a big part of many people's lives, Apple managed to fit its desktop-class M1 Chip into the fifth-generation iPad Air, something previously only available in the iPad Pro. An improved wide-angle front-facing camera allows the use of Apple's Center Stage feature on the iPad Air 5, so the view automatically pans and zooms to capture one or more faces during a video call, another very nice upgrade. In addition, it's compatible with Apple's Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil 2, along with plenty of USB-C and Bluetooth devices.

Apple provided a good variety of color choices for the iPad Air 5. Space Gray is the only one that matches the previous generation and is generally available on most other Apple devices, so for a consistent theme, this might be the right choice. But, to be perfectly honest, it's the least interesting. Starlight is similar to Silver but with a sandy tone that is still neutral but has more character. This color is also available for the iPad mini 6, as well as the Pink and Purple hues that are new for the larger tablet. The most intense and arguably best color for the iPad Air 5 is Blue, and Apple made it more robust and vibrant than the rest, a stunning pick for a large tablet.

Apple iPad Air 5 Colors

Apple device colors have some overlap, and it's fun to match one product to another when possible. If Space Gray is chosen, that becomes easy. However, several other iPad Air 5 colors are a close, if not an exact match for tones available on the iPhone, Apple Watch and more. The iPhone 13 has Starlight, Pink and Blue colors that look very close to those of Apple's fifth-generation iPad Air, while the iPhone 13 Pro offers Space Gray and Sierra Blue, while Silver and Gold are not far off from Starlight, having a bit less and more of a gold-tone, respectively.

The 24-inch iMac's Pink and Blue are in the vicinity of the iPad Air 5's colors of the same name, and since the iMac is two-tone, having a lighter side and a darker side, the iPad Air would fit in well. The Apple Watch has Starlight, Blue and a variety of shades of gray. The closest match of any Apple product for color theming is the iPad mini 6, which has four of the five colors, missing only the iPad Air's Blue hue. Perhaps that's part of what makes such an excellent choice for the iPad Air 5, a unique color for a remarkable tablet.
