Apple is planning to launch the most expansive portfolio of devices ever in a single year, with multiple products across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch families slated for a debut starting in the spring season of 2022. Over the past few months, the rumor mill has been in full swing regarding details about upcoming devices such as the 5G-ready 2022 iPhone SE refresh, a redesigned MacBook Air, an all-new iMac, and a trio of smartwatches. One product that has been a mainstay in the leak arena, in particular, has been the iPhone SE refresh for both good and bad reasons.

Apple is said to equip the phone with the new A15 Bionic processor, and 5G support is also making its way to Apple's entry-level phone. Both are good iterative upgrades, considering the price point is likely to fall somewhere around the $400-500 mark. However, it will reportedly retain the same old looks that Apple first introduced with the iPhone eight years ago. But it's just one of the many products that Apple has in the pipeline for the ongoing year.

In the latest edition of his PowerOn newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman noted that Apple aims to launch the most comprehensive array of devices it has ever introduced in a single year. As expected, the upcoming devices will be announced in a staggered format, with Apple following its usual spring and fall event cycle. In the first phase, Apple is expected to begin with the 2022 iPhone SE refresh. Then, in the second half of the year, the company is expected to launch another quartet of phones — iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

In the first wave, Apple is also expected to launch the highly anticipated MacBook Air refresh that will come rocking a fresh design, while the new in-house M2 chip will be at its heart. And just like the iPad Air, Apple is expected to give it a splash of bright shades. The MacBook Air refresh will be followed by a lower-priced MacBook Pro powered by the M2 chip, slated to debut in the latter half of 2022. In addition, an iMac with a bigger 27-inch screen is also tipped to arrive later this year, and an upgraded Mac Pro is in the pipeline. As for the tablets, Apple is said to be launching the iPad Pro in the two usual sizes, 11-inch and 12.9-inch, both of which rely on the M2 silicon.

Interestingly, Gurmen mentions that wireless charging support will "probably" be a part of the package. Earlier this month, it was rumored that Apple had shelved plans of a rear glass panel on the upcoming iPad Pro, which meant wireless charging would be a no-show. The company is also said to be launching the 10th generation iPad with an unchanged design, 5G support, and the A14 Bionic processor inside. On the wearable side of things, the second-generation AirPods Pro with new health-centric tricks is said to hit the shelves in 2022. Apple is also rumored to make a pivotal change to its smartwatch lineup, adding a rugged model to the mix. Not much is known about the Apple Watch Series 8 specs, but rumors point towards a fresh design with flat sides and an extra speaker grille.
