The new season of Apex Legends is shaping up to change the game dramatically. Players have been excited for Season 5 for a long while now, and with the introduction of legend Loba, the new quest mode, and a changed map there is plenty to be excited about. Season 5 of Apex Legends will launch next week on May 12th.
Apex Legends has remained very popular ever since it released last February. With only a little more than a year under its belt, it has managed to directly compete with the more experienced Fortnite and PUBG. One of the biggest reasons that Apex has managed to compete is because of its varied list of characters that each have their own abilities and personality. Every new season adds new heroes that manage to shake up gameplay and add more variety to player strategies. Season 5 looks like it won't be any different.
Respawn Entertainment released a trailer today that shows off many new features for Season 5 of Apex Legends. One of the first and most important aspects is that players are introduced to a new legend, Loba, and some of the abilities she will be bringing to the table. During the trailer, Loba is shown teleporting around by throwing her bracelet and grabbing loot from a distance. Additionally, the trailer also features the new quest mode that will add some much-needed variety to Apex Legend's gameplay. In this mode, players will spend time hunting treasure and working towards seasonal quests.
Loba was teased a few days ago with the newest entry in Apex Legend's 'Stories From the Outlands' series. In this teaser, it is revealed that Loba has a complicated history with last season's legend Revenant. Turns out that Revenant murdered Loba's parents when she was a small child, and she has decided to spend her life tracking down the assassin in order to end his life. It's also shown that, while players have been fighting above ground, Loba has been hiding out in bunkers below the arena. All this time she has been hunting Revenant and trying to exact her revenge.
Whenever a new season of Apex Legends releases it is always an incredibly exciting affair. Respawn typically adds new game modes, characters, and events that keep the game feeling fresh and engaging. The inclusion of the Quest mode will give players a fun break from the usual battle royale gameplay, and Loba should bring some fun new abilities as well. Players will need to wait until Tuesday to see if the hype pays off.
