Popular streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins found himself on the receiving end of a “kidnapping” in the final round of a recent Apex Legends game. Ninja, who primarily rose to fame from playing Fortnite, is still the most followed channel on Twitch despite moving to exclusively stream on Mixer before the latter platform’s demise last year and Ninja’s inevitable return to his former channel. Since then the content creator has not only practically moved on from playing Fortnite but has also recently cameoed in Ryan Reynolds' new video game movie.

It’s unsurprising that Ninja would be open to playing Apex Legends as it is one of the bigger battle royale franchises in the market at the moment. The popular shooter is currently in the middle of its 10th season, which introduced quite a number of changes and new content into the game. Apart from map and character balance changes as well as new game modes, Season 10 of Apex Legends also added the new Rampage light machine gun and the game’s latest champion Seer.

Reddit user reverixuu shared the clip of Ninja’s kidnapping experience on the Apex Legends subreddit. The clip shows a moment during one of the content creator’s recent streams where he and his teammates are attempting to take down the remaining enemy team. While Ninja’s team was in a position that provided a lot of covers, the enemy team was situated on a crane and had the high ground advantage. With less than a minute left in the round, the enemy Wraith jumped down from their position and used their Dimensional Rift ability to transport Ninja onto the crane where Loba and Pathfinder were waiting. Surprisingly, rather than react negatively to the incident, Ninja praised the move by calling it the “coolest shit” he’s ever seen.

Wraith’s ultimate ability, Dimensional Rift, is normally used to help players and their teammates maneuver better around the map or outmaneuver enemy teams by suddenly shifting their position. However, “kidnapping” is a unique and aggressive way to utilize the ability. While it is risky to pull off, as the Wraith player’s timing has to be almost perfect, it’s definitely one way for a team to get a massive advantage over another, which is seen in the clip and game Ninja features in.

The Wraith “kidnapping” move is just one of a number of ability shenanigans that players have come up with in the game. One other involves combining Wraith and Valkyrie’s abilities to create a death trap for enemy players. Getting kidnapped is definitely a surprising experience for any player, regardless of whether they’ve fallen victim to it before, but it’s equally surprising that Ninja took the incident in stride and was impressed by it instead.
