The recently introduced Arenas mode has already proven to be quite popular among Apex Legends players, leading fans to suggest new areas they want to see added to the mode’s map rotation. This new mode serves as a breath of fresh air for the battle royale-centric online game.

One of the key additions introduced to Apex Legends with the start of Legacy season is the Arenas, a new playable mode that goes beyond the core battle royale experience and back to the roots of the Titanfall franchise. Basically, it’s a classic team deathmatch with two squads competing to win the majority of rounds. Like many other similar modes, Arenas offers a buy menu for contenders to choose their equipment. While the Legends’ abilities are present, the respawn mechanics are absent since there are no beacons. Currently, there are just three arenas in the mode’s map rotation, and players understandably want more.

Judging by the community reception, Apex Legends’ Arenas is quite popular among players who have taken to Reddit to present their own ideas of new playable areas that they want to see added to the mode. Redditor el009 shared a pretty obvious suggestion of Octane's Gauntlet from the King’s Canyon as a new playable arena, which works perfectly well considering how often this particular area serves as the battlefield for numerous fighting squads. A different player named Timtom_n1chols on Reddit has gone even further reminding the community of the Thunderdome zone, which is no longer part of the King’s Canyon as it was destroyed a few seasons ago. Turning it into an arena makes even more sense considering that in Titanfall’s lore, it already served as an area for the Apex Games’ preceding incarnation of a blood sport eponymously called “Thunderdome.”

Interestingly, the Arenas mode is already tied to the Titanfall lore. According to the Apex Legends Legacy season initial teaser, the team deathmatch is being operated by a familiar character. Ash, one of the key antagonists of Titanfall 2 and a member of the Apex Predators, was revealed in the trailer. Sometime after her defeat in the game’s story mode, Ash was restored to life so she could organize a new tournament for Legends.

It’d be quite surprising if Respawn Entertainment hadn’t planned a host of additional levels for Apex Legends’ Arenas mode. The devs probably wanted to see if the newest addition to the game got enough interest to justify its further support. Now, since the players are already suggesting their own selections of new arenas, the time has come to uncover the official plans of expanding the current map pool. Luckily, it is seemingly quite easy to do as all it takes to make a new arena is to pick an already existing area from battle royale maps and treat it to slight tactical adjustments.
