Kang the Conqueror's story arc in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania may have been telegraphed by the threequel's first full trailer. Given that he's set to be the main antagonist of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, Kang the Conqueror's debut as the main villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is expected to end on an ominous note. After all, Kang will need to get out of the Quantum Realm in order to face Earth's Mightiest Heroes and attempt to conquer the multiverse.

How Kang will be able to appear in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty after facing Scott Lang and his family is still a mystery, but the first full trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania may already have hinted at it. The Quantumania trailer used Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", which draws inspiration from The Wizard Of Oz, where Dorothy is only able to return to her home in Kansas once she sends the titular wizard flying away from the Land of Oz. It's possible that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania follows the same pattern, with Scott Lang escaping from the Quantum Realm after setting Kang free. Cassie Lang, Hank Pym, and Janet and Hope van Dyne could play the roles of the Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Man, while MODOK could be the equivalent of the Wicked Witch — a seemingly powerful villain that ends up being defeated accidentally.

How Can Ant-Man Escape The Quantum Realm?

Ant-Man Comes Out of the Quantum Realm

Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror may seem to be in charge of Chronopolis in the Quantum Realm, but he likely hasn't found a way out. Without a carefully planned trip and the appropriate gear, exiting the Quantum Realm is extremely difficult. Scott Lang has only been able to make a solo two-way trip by using an enlarging Pym Particle disc on his shrinking regulator, or by having someone on the outside bring him back with special equipment (in Avengers: Endgame, that someone was a random rat). And since Janet van Dyne had spent multiple decades inside, rescuing her was even more difficult. The Avengers' time machine made the process easier, but someone still needed to say outside and activate the machine.

So, with nobody to help the Ant family and Kang come out of the Quantum Realm, they all must find an alternative inside. Kang the Conqueror seems to have made great strides with his technology, which looks eerily similar to the mysterious tech in Shang-Chi's Ten Rings and Ms. Marvel's bracelets. Perhaps Scott Lang and his team possess the final piece of the puzzle that will help him travel to the MCU's main universe, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's main conflict could center around Kang's pursuit to obtain it. Following the Wizard of Oz similarities, Scott Lang could end up sending Kang the Conqueror out of the Quantum Realm when he realizes that there was an easier method no one had thought of.

What Would Kang The Conqueror Do If He Escaped The Quantum Realm?

Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania and Loki

The Wizard of Oz never revealed what the Wizard did after Dorothy sent him home, but it certainly wasn't a fraction of the potential catastrophe that Kang the Conqueror can unleash if he exits the Quantum Realm. Kang the Conqueror and his multiversal variants are set on conquest across space and time. In the comics, Kang's thirst for power is unquenchable, and he keeps showing up at different points in the timeline with new identities. In fact, Kang's constant trips through time tend to create more Kang variants who hold grudges against each other and put the multiverse in peril in the process. In the MCU, Kang could get his hands on the Avengers' time machine to unleash chaos on different timelines and break the multiverse apart. After that, he could reign over the MCU multiverse and hide wherever and whenever he pleases. Perhaps this is what led him to become the head of the new TVA in Loki's finale, which could take place after the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
