Rarely has a comic book character who hasn't appeared in a story make such an impact, but Anti-Gwenom has become a favorite of cosplayers. In a new cosplay from @natalievaia, Anti-Gwenom comes to life in a stunning look that brings the antihero to life. Readers might not be familiar with Anti-Gwenom, considering she's never appeared in a story (at least in our research), but a variant cover made her a popular character on the cosplay circuit.

Spider-Gwen is one of the most popular variants of Gwen Stacy, as the Earth-65 version of the character became the Spider-Woman of her own universe. However, Gwen embraced her dark side after bonding with the Venom symbiote, which turned her into Gwenom. Despite being in a different universe, Gwen Stacy still deals with the effects of bonding with the symbiote in her current Marvel Comics adventures, which was last seen in Marvel's King in Black event. Another Gwenom made their debut on a cover for the Edge of Venomverse event, as Greg Horn combined the Anti-Venom symbiote with Gwen Stacy in a stunning variant. While the antihero never appeared in a story, the cover has become a wildly popular cosplay - with many talented models and artists doing their own spin on Anti-Gwenom.

Anti-Gwenom's design by Horn (seen above) imagines Spider-Gwen being infected with a symbiote but keeps core elements of her original costume. The most significant difference in her look is a new Venom logo on her chest, while she gets horrifying symbiote features, like sharp teeth and long dark claws. On her Instagram page, cosplayer @natalievaia shared her own take on Anti-Gwenom, which shows the character's transformation. The look imagines Spider-Gwen as a symbiote, as she keeps her trademark hood and long blonde hair. However, the black Venom logo on her chest and symbiote claws suggest she's about to transform into something much more sinister.

The stunning cosplay is relatively simple when it comes to symbiote details, but the claws make it a perfect tease for one of Spider-Gwen's darkest sides. The striking image was taken by @jeffzoetvisuals. You can see @natalievaia's masked Anti-Gwenom on her Instagram page.

While Anti-Gwenom still hasn't made her official comic book debut, it would make a lot of sense to see the character go from a cover star to comic book antihero in the recently announced Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse miniseries. It seems it's just a matter of time before Anti-Gwenom becomes canon in the Marvel Multiverse.
