Anthony Mackie has tried on an early version of his Captain America costume. His character of Sam Wilson made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and quickly suited up as Falcon. For comic fans, they knew that his introduction could one day lead to him taking on the mantle of Captain America himself. It took a few years and several appearances, but that is now happening.
Following Steve Rogers' decision to live a full life with Peggy Carter after returning the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Endgame, he returned to the present day. When he did, he gave Sam the Captain America shield and passed on the torch to him. The move signified a major change for the MCU, but especially for Mackie. Instead of being a supporting character, he'll be a star for years to come. We don't quite know when he will suit up as Captain America for the first time on screen, but Mackie has already tried on the suit.
During an interview with MTV, Mackie shared that he recently tried on his costume. He said, "I just had my first fitting," but didn't detail what his Captain America outfit looks like. When asked to elaborate on the experience, he revealed that it happened in his house and confidently says that he looks good in the suit.

If Mackie is already getting fitted for the Captain America costume, then it would appear that he will wear it in the relatively near future. Fans almost had the chance to see him suit up already, as there were brief discussions to have him appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Instead, the movement on Mackie's Captain America suit may be a sign that he will put it on in the Disney+ series he will co-star in with, currently titled Falcon & Winter Soldier. But, if he is going to already take on the Captain America mantle in the series, which is set to film this fall, then a new title may soon be announced.
Falcon's time as Captain America in the comics will likely provide a basis for what the MCU's version of the suit will look like. Mackie jokes about not knowing where the wings or shield will go as the fitting didn't get that far, but it would be surprising if neither of those accessories was included in Sam Wilson's new MCU look. If Mackie is being fitted for the costume right now, then Marvel Studios must know what it is going to look like, so maybe it won't be too long before concept art of the suit is released. And if not, once Falcon & Winter Soldier starts filming, it could be difficult to hide the new look.
