Scott Lang fails miserably in a hilarious attempt to formulate a plan in a new TV spot for Ant-Man and the Wasp. The titular hero was only mentioned without appearing on-screen in Avengers: Infinity War, and the events of the Ant-Man sequel are about to explain why Lang was so busy. He'll set forth on a new mission with Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) alongside Hope van Dyne, a.k.a. The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) in the new movie, which is set after Captain America: Civil War but before and during Infinity War.

Part of the newest test for Lang and van Dyne comes in the form of Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), a vigilante who stole the tech from one of Dr. Pym's other projects to develop the ability to pass through walls and other objects. Even for the size-shifting heroes, Ghost should present quite a formidable foe. So Lang is going to have to plan something good to have a chance - but it appears that he'll bumble through that part at first.

As you can see in the above TV spot via Marvel Entertainment, van Dyne speaks about Ghost as something the group has "unleashed" and needs to stop. Lang then tries to come up with an outline of what to do with her and Pym in a van. That's where the problems arise, as Lang struggles with even the most basic components of the plan and thinking of the most important parts out of order. In fact, he almost forgets that saving the world should be in there somewhere.

The new TV spot comes on the heels of the recent release of the second Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer, which reveals more of Ghost in action. Luis (Michael Peña) says she wants to "take over the world, or whatever." It also hints at Laurence Fishburne's transformation into Goliath, which his character Bill Foster simply refers to as an old project he and Pym worked on. Tony Stark also subtly referenced the project in Iron Man 2.

As for Ghost, she will likely remain the primary foe for Ant-Man, despite the presence of Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch and the rumors that Goliath could appear as a villain. Ghost will also engage in a direct battle with The Wasp, as revealed in set photos. Other shots spotted Ghost stealing the shrunken building seen in prior trailers. Though misdirection is possible, she'll play a major role in the plot of the sequel either way - and cause Lang to struggle to put a plan together.

The small drabs of clues about Fishburne as Bill Foster have made his role all the more mysterious. It's fair to wonder if the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Goliath will actually fight against Lang's Giant-Man, possibly even a giant Wasp. Lang would really need a great plan if that were the case, but the promos for Ant-Man and the Wasp continue to promote Ghost as a force to be reckoned with. Let's hope Lang has something more cohesive in mind when it comes time to fight.
