If all the action in the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer flew by too fast for you, we've got high-res images to help break things down. 2018 will mark the second year in which one of Marvel's big Avengers team-ups is followed by an installment in the smaller (pun intended) Ant-Man franchise. Even as audiences brace themselves for Avengers: Infinity War, many Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are curious to see how the size-changing sequel plays out. Now that the first Ant-Man & the Wasp trailer has been released, it's clear the film will focus on its own world within the MCU.
With so much talk of what happened in Captain America: Civil War and no mention of Thanos, the trailer suggests Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place well before Infinity War. While that may be a bit confusing, it will also allow the movie to deal with a smaller story like its predecessor, rather than focus on saving the entire world. It also makes sense, considering that the Ant-Man sequel was originally set to arrive before Infinity War, before it was pushed back to make room for Spider-Man: Homecoming. That being said, we can now pick apart the action and comedy in the film's trailer, piece by piece.

While Marvel fans have likely been rewatching and pausing the trailer to catch every moment of it, our gallery of Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer screenshots will make that task a lot easier. By slowing things down a bit, we get a better look at the mysterious Ghost, who will be the film's primary villain, as well as new characters like Bill Foster (Laurence Fishburne). In addition to new characters, the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer hints at a return to the Quantum Realm, presumably as part of the search for Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) in the movie. Fortunately, the teaser avoids revealing anything too spoiler-y in that respect and instead focuses on condensed versions of action sequences, rather than major plot points from the film.
The one exception is the slow-motion knife dodging that Wasp does, which is designed to give her a grand entrance. While Scott Lang's Ant-Man gets plenty of action, the trailer makes it clear that the Wasp is the more natural superhero of the pair. The movie's trailer finally reveals her wings and blasters in action (much to Scott's chagrin), while further highlighting the Wasp costume and its design.
Along with the trailer, Marvel has now unveiled the first official Ant-Man and the Wasp poster. Like the trailer, it plays up the smaller stature of its heroes and proves comedy will be at the forefront of the film. Though Thanos won't be in the picture, the stakes will still be high for those involved in the movie. Fortunately though, the fate of the world won't be resting on anyone's shoulders in the Ant-Man sequel, following the insanity of Infinity War in May.
