New Ant-Man and the Wasp set photos reveals Paul Rudd sporting his updated suit. The sequel to the 2015 Marvel Cinematic Universe movie Ant-Man is in production in Atlanta, Georgia. While we have been treated to several snaps of Evangeline Lilly suited up for her upcoming superhero gig, her partner-in-crime, Rudd’s Ant-Man, has largely been nowhere to be found until now.
Currently, not much is known regarding how the movie will pan out, but based on the official synopsis for Ant-Man and the Wasp, it seems that it will once again be more of a personal, small-scale movie as it tries to decode the mysterious disappearance and possible return of Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) – Hope’s mom, Hank’s wife, and the original Wasp. The first film already established that she has been lost in the quantum realm for several years, but since Scott was able to return from the realm, then there is a good chance that she could, too.
The fresh batch of set photos come courtesy of JustJared and focuses on Scott, who is suited up for another round of crime-fighting and problem-solving – although it looks like he is just running in place while he makes several funny facial expressions. In the shots, we see the head-to-toe garb complete with belt and gloves. the only thing missing is his mask, which on closer inspection seems to be folded over his head – similar to Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor in Captain America: Civil War.

While we have seen the updated suit a couple of times before, this is actually the first time that we see it on Rudd while the actor is in the middle of filming. Last month, we saw Rudd’s stand-in wearing the suit but only from the waist up, without the belt details, gloves, and headpiece. As mentioned before, the Ant-Man suit continues to evolve from the first time we saw it in the 2015 film. This modern-looking suit seems to be more tailored to fit Scott, which makes sense because the costume he wore in the first film was supposed to be the original suit worn by Hank when he was still doing missions as the original shrinking hero.
Aside from Scott, Hope, Hank, and Janet, Ant-Man and the Wasp will also see the return of some familiar faces like Judy Greer as Maggie, Michael Pena as Luis and Abby Ryder Fortson as Cassie, Scott’s daughter. Meanwhile newcomers like Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo will be making their big MCU debut via the sequel.
