Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has wrapped filming and director Peyton Reed is celebrating with some awesome art. The third Ant-Man movie is now the last film on Marvel's Phase 4 slate with a release date, taking the place of another threequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Ant-Man 3 was recently pushed back from February 2023 to July 2023 along with multiple other MCU titles, as Disney cited productions issues rather than box office performance as the reason for the delays.

In spite of the production issues, Ant-Man 3 began filming this past summer and has hummed along quite smoothly. The film will see the return of its titular duo, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), along with the two who originally held the mantle, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). Kathryn Newton has been recast as Cassie Lang, who will likely be suiting up as the superhero known as Stature. Jonathan Majors is also expected to make his first MCU appearance since Loki as the multiversal menace known as Kang the Conqueror. Bill Murray also appears to have a role in the movie.

Now, director Peyton Reed has announced that Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has finished principal photography. Reed made the announcement on Twitter and hyped the movie by sharing some art by Mark James Hiblen which shows Ant-Man and a shrunken version of The Wasp atop his helmet. Though it is great to hear the Ant-Man threequel has finished has principal photography on schedule without any major delays, keep in mind that nearly every Marvel movie conducts extensive reshoots, meaning that Ant-Man 3 likely still has a ways to go before it is totally done filming. Given its release date of July 28, 2023, they should have ample time to finish the film, and not to mention the multiple MCU movies releasing until then to keep fans satiated.

This announcement will surely begin building hype for the Ant-Man movie, though it has been in the spotlight ever since Majors debuted as the Kang variant He Who Remains during the Loki season 1 finale, which only increased anticipation for the villain's proper introduction coming in Ant-Man 3. With upcoming movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange 2 set to focus heavily on the multiverse, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania could end up having major ramifications for the MCU's future beyond Phase 4.
