According to Michael Douglas, Hank Pym is furious at Scott Lang for exposing his shrinking suit to the rest of the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War. Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man & The Wasp will see the return of Marvel's favorite shrinking hero, but this time, he's joined by Hope van Dyne as The Wasp. Together, the two must stop a mysterious villain, Ghost, and attempt to save Janet van Dyne - the Pym matriarch and the original Wasp - from the Quantum Realm.

It's still unclear where Ant-Man & The Wasp exactly falls on MCU's timeline, but it'll be set in between the events of Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War (two years). Following Iron Man and Captain America's big airport battle, Scott (as well as Clint Barton/Hawkeye) has struck a deal with the government to stay under house arrest - allowing him to spend time with his daughter. Unfortunately, it seems like almost everyone in his life is irked by his most recent screw-up.

During Screen Rant's visit to the set of Ant-Man & The Wasp, Douglas explained how Scott's involvement in Civil War directly affected his relationship with the Pyms - especially Hank. Fans have seen in previously released trailers that Hope isn't amused about Scott's decision to get involved in Iron Man and Cap's conflict, but as it turns out, her father's reaction is worse.

How does Hank feel about Scott taking the Ant Man gear and going out for Civil War and we’re exposing that tech -- ?

Michael Douglas: Yeah he’s pretty pissed off about that. [Laughs] He really is. I mean, I would say, largely sets the initial tone between Scott and Hank on this one. That was, you know he didn't share much information with Dr. Pym.

In a separate interview, Paul Rudd confirmed that Ant-Man has definitely made things difficult for the original Ant-family:

Can you say anything about how Hank and Hope’s view of Scott has changed since he took Hank’s technology to fight in Civil War?

Paul Rudd: I don’t think he took too kindly to that or to her. I think that yeah, I have made life a little bit more difficult for them, you know. Nobody knew about me until Germany.

While Scott and Hank's relationship wasn't fully explored in Ant-Man, it was Hank's decision to trust Scott with his suit - something that shouldn't be taken lightly, considering that he didn't even want anyone from S.H.I.E.L.D. touch it. To some degree, he chose an ex-con to be his protege not because of any special skill set, but because he believed he has the right morals to not use his creation for his personal benefit like Darren Cross did. And although technically Scott didn't really do anything wrong, the fact that he betrayed his mentor's trust by going out there and showing off his suit is enough to merit tension between the two.

Then again, since Ant-Man & The Wasp has more of a comedic tone, chances that the conflict between Hank and Scott will be serious are slim. The trailers and TV spots released so far have indicated that they will have a similar relationship to the first movie, with Scott as the butt of every joke and Hank giving him the tough love treatment. Further, since Scott is the key to saving his wife from the Quantum Realm, perhaps Hank can eventually forgive him if they successfully pull off a rescue mission.
