Ant-Man's official Twitter account is celebrating star Paul Rudd being named Sexiest Man Alive 2021. The title is given each year by People magazine, which this year chose the Ant-Man star for the honor. Rudd began his career in the early 90s, making an impression with 1995's Clueless with Alicia Silverstone, later appearing in a number of supporting roles, mostly in comedies and dramas, before starring in another comedy breakout, Anchorman with Will Ferrell as Brian Fantana. He would appear in more comedy roles from there, from Forgetting Sarah Marshall to I Love You, Man to Wanderlust to This is 40, quickly becoming a go-to actor for top-tier comedy films.

Rudd also appeared in a number of TV shows, including guest roles in Parks and Recreation, Friends, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, and Living With Yourself. His biggest breakout role, however, would be for Marvel's Ant-Man, where he took on the role of Scott Lang/Ant-Man, a professional thief who ends up working with the original Ant-Man, Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas. The Ant-Man suit and identity are passed on to Lang, who eventually teams up with Pym's daughter, Hope Van Dyne, played by Evangeline Lilly, who becomes the superhero known as the Wasp. Rudd has played Ant-Man for two solo films and has appeared in both Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame as the character.

With the news of Rudd's new Sexiest Man Alive title, Ant-Man's official Twitter responded in the best way possible, saying, "it's about time." This can be read a number of ways, one of which is the obvious, as Rudd has been a leading man fixture for a long time, often noted for his ageless appearance throughout the years, as well as his general likability. Another way to read the tweet is as a reference to the post-credits scene from the first Ant-Man film. When Pym shows his daughter, Hope, the Wasp suit he had been developing with her mother, she says, "it's about damn time." This makes for a clever nod to the film while recognizing Rudd's new title. Rudd is currently filming the third film in the franchise, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. The film reunites Rudd with co-stars Lilly, Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer, as well as newcomer to the series Kathryn Newton, who plays Cassie Lang, Ant-Man's daughter. Also joining the film is Jonathan Majors, who plays Kang the Conqueror, who was first introduced in the Disney+ series Loki.

Rudd has been able to balance his Hollywood career relatively controversy-free and continuously come off as a well-liked and good-natured individual and actor. His appearances on Conan throughout the years are notoriously hilarious and he's always shown an air of humility and humor from his public appearances, interviews, and in his professional appearances. Rudd's reaction to being named Sexiest Man Alive hasn't seemed to faze the actor in any way, as he's carried on with his usual demeanor, which feels very on-brand for the Ant-Man actor.
