Ant-Man director Peyton Reed reveals who Falcon was talking to at one point in his film: Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. Ant-Man, which was released in 2015, introduced MCU fans to Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). The movie also featured Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly as father/daughter team Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym. Like most MCU movies, Ant-Man features a number of cameos, including Hayley Atwell and John Slattery as Peggy Carter and Iron Man's father, Howard Stark. Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan also appear in a post-credits scene as Captain America and the Winter Soldier.

The first film was successful enough to warrant a sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, which came out in 2018. It was notable for including Lilly's character in the title, making it the first MCU movie to do so with a female character. Captain Marvel followed suit last year, making Carol Danvers the first female character to receive a solo film. Ant-Man and the Wasp also introduced Hope's mother, Janet van Dyne, played by Michelle Pfeiffer. A third Ant-Man movie is already in the works, though it doesn't yet have a release date.

One of the first movie's funniest scenes involves Sam Wilson/Falcon, who fights Ant-Man when he tries to break into the Avengers facility. After Scott beats him by disabling his pack, Falcon talks to someone through his comms, saying "It's really important to me that Cap never finds out about this." Now, Reed shares who Falcon was speaking to, and the answer may surprise some fans:

Ant-Man was released in between Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, marking a turning point in the MCU. At the end of Age of Ultron, the team established the Avengers base, with Captain America and Black Widow training the new members of the team, including Vision, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, and Falcon. As one of the team leaders, it makes sense Black Widow would be on comms with Falcon during the events of Ant-Man and that he would be the one sent out to defend headquarters. When fans next see the Avengers team in Captain America: Civil War, a full year has passed since Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The reveal about Black Widow adds some fun to an already entertaining Ant-Man scene. Given Captain America and Black Widow's close relationship, it seems likely she probably did tell him about what happened, with the two having a laugh at Sam's expense. Though Johansson was never meant to appear onscreen in Ant-Man, it nice to know Reed was thinking of her when creating the scene.
