A new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania reveals more about the story and the chaos and dangers the characters will face in the Quantum Realm, but it also spoils a major Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) plot point. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will kick off the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5, and as it will be the official introduction of Kang the Conqueror, it’s on its way to being, perhaps, the most important movie in the Multiverse Saga before the crossover events Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will see Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) traveling to the Quantum Realm, where they will uncover some dark secrets and meet Kang the Conqueror, a mysterious and powerful time-traveling, multiversal being. The final trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania revealed a bit more about the upcoming fight between Scott Lang and Kang and how the latter will mess with him and the rest, but it also spoiled a major plot point in Kang’s story.

Ant-Man 3 Trailer Risks Giving Away Too Much

Kang vs Antman quantumania

The final trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania revealed more about what will bring Scott and Kang together, as the voiceover by Kang tells Scott he has lost a lot of time, just like he has, and offers Ant-Man to give him what he wants: time. Janet is then shown telling Scott and the rest what Kang can do and that they shouldn’t trust him, followed by Kang showing Scott moments from his past with Cassie. Kang then says he wants Scott to bring him what he needs, and it’s understood that in return he will give him time, whatever Scott needs/wants it for. However, towards the end of the trailer, Scott says “we had a deal” to Kang, proving Kang truly can’t be trusted.

The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer is at risk of repeating a problem the MCU usually has with its trailers and TV spots, especially those released closer to the release date: giving away too much. This trailer in particular gives away what will trigger the fight between Ant-Man and Kang, Scott’s personal struggles with his daughter and the time he has lost (between being in jail and then the blip), and, once more, teases Ant-Man’s death. Surely, some of these moments might just be there to deceive the audience and might not even be part of the final cut, but it definitely revealed too much of the plot by showing most of the deal between Ant-Man and Kang and that the latter will betray him.

Why Ant-Man 3's Trailer Reveals So Much Plot

Jonathan Majors as Kang firing blue lasers in Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania

Since the first trailer, Marvel showed Kang offering Ant-Man to take him back home and give him some time if he helped him, ending with Kang telling him “so, what’s it gonna be, Ant-Man?”, so the offer wasn’t a secret – but the details were. Although the final trailer revealed too much about Ant-Man and Kang’s deal, there will still be more surprises, as the exact terms of the deal are unknown, as well as how and why Kang will betray Ant-Man. It’s no longer surprising when an MCU trailer gives away too much plot, but given all the characters, concepts, and conflicts that will be addressed, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania can still surprise its audience in many ways.
