On the heels of filming wrapping, an Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania crew gift reveals the first look at the movie's Kang the Conqueror. The time-traveling villain is set to make their proper Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming threequel with Jonathan Majors bringing the character to life. Majors previously played a variant of the character in the Disney+ series Loki, in which he went by the name He Who Remains and was the creator of the Time Variance Authority.

Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly return to lead the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as the titular heroes alongside Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne. The film will also mark the MCU debuts of Kathryn Newton as the latest actress to portray Scott's daughter, Cassie, and Bill Murray in an undisclosed role. After two years of development, filming on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania finally kicked off in Turkey in February 2021 and finally concluded in November.

Following a wrap of production on the film, crew member Ace Ruele for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania shared an image on Twitter of the stunt team's wrap gift. The T-shirt sees a damaged version of the titular hero's helmet with a reflection of Kang the Conqueror, offering the first look at the film's antagonist, though Ruele has since deleted his post. The secretive nature of Marvel productions is infamous over a decade after the MCU kicked off with Iron Man, which makes Ruele pulling his post down understandable. The introduction of Kang the Conqueror to the MCU has been one of the most anticipated developments for the franchise since it was announced in late 2020 that Majors had signed on to star as the villain for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Despite all signs pointing towards his playing Kang in the threequel, Majors had played incredibly coy about the casting in the months that followed until the 2020 Disney Investor Day, where his and Newton's roles were confirmed.

The Kang the Conqueror first look on the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wrap gift may be a smaller glimpse at the villain, it does come as an exciting tease of a comics-accurate depiction of the character. Though it could later be revealed to simply be concept art instead of Kang's proper costume, the MCU certainly hasn't shied away from staying true to their villain designs for the films, creating a likelihood the first look will share some resemblance to the final product. Only time will tell when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on July 28, 2023.
