Michelle Pfeiffer is starting training as Janet van Dyne in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Not long after Marvel Studios officially announced the threequel's release date, the stars of the movie are already gearing up to return to reprise their respective roles. Evangeline Lilly was the first to tease this on social media, and now her on-screen mother follows suit.

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Pyms are back after being snuffed from existence due to Thanos' snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. While Scott Lang/Ant-Man was the only surviving member of the group, he was extremely important to reversing the decimation with the Quantum tunnel, and Quantum technology, in general, was intrinsic to the success of the time heist. With the Mad Titan defeated and the Infinity Saga finished, the heroes are back in their own MCU pocket as they face a brand new threat and go through a fresh mission in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaia.

Hank Pym actor Michael Douglas has recently confirmed that production for the Peyton Reed blockbuster will begin this July in London. Given that, Pfeiffer took it to her official Instagram account to reveal that she is now training to reprise her MCU role as Janet, the former Wasp, in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Looking at the comments section, Lilly sent her co-star some love by cheering her on. Watch the clip below:

Unlike Douglas, Lilly, and Paul Rudd, Pfeiffer joined the MCU only in the second film, Ant-Man and the Wasp. In the original Ant-Man movie from 2015, Janet's existence was only hinted at, allowing Marvel Studios to cast the prolific actress for the sequel. Much of the narrative of the follow-up centered around rescuing Janet from the Quantum Realm where she had been trapped for decades and for the longest time, presumed to be dead. The original trio succeeded in the endeavor, but Ant-Man and the Wasp still left a lot of questions regarding her time in the unexplored universe including how spending years there changed her. It's been teased that Janet has gained powers from her experience but it remains unclear what she's capable of doing with it.

Pfeiffer's video might be an indication that there will be more to do for Janet in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While the plot specifics of the movie are still scant at the moment, the title itself indicates that the Quantum Realm will continue to be a major factor in the threequel's arc. Considering that Janet is arguably the most knowledgeable of the said universe, chances are that she'll play a significant part in their upcoming mission. Perhaps the blockbuster might even see her in action.
