Evangeline Lilly posted a video that gives a sneak peak into how she is training for Ant-Man 3. Lilly is a Canadian actress with a number of impressive credits beneath her belt. She kicked off her career starring as Kate Austen on ABC's Lost, which landed her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Drama Series. She is also known for her role as wood-elf, Tauriel, in the 2nd and 3rd installments of Peter Jackson's adaption of The Hobbit. In 2015, she joined the MCU when she was cast as Hope Pym (a.k.a. The Wasp), in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp. She is slated to take on the role once more in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Marvel's Ant-Man 3 release date is set for February 2023, and fans will be especially excited to see Lilly's role, considering the evolution of her character between Ant-Man and Ant-Man 2. In Ant-Man, Lilly's role was rather brief, as the mysterious and frigid daughter of Hank Pym, and trainer and love interest of Ant-Man. In Ant-Man 2, though, Hope really grows into herself. She is introduced as The Wasp, taking over her mother's legacy and fighting alongside Ant-Man, as the co-star of the movie. Now, Lilly is gearing up to don The Wasp uniform again as Ant-Man 3 filming approaches.

Lilly took to Instagram to share her beach workout in preparation for Ant-Man 3. The 9-minute video showed Lilly doing a foundation training exercise. Those unfamiliar with foundation training might find her video a bit confusing, as Lilly spent a large portion of the video gaining the correct footing and then did a stances in which she put one leg forward and one back, bent at the waist, and reached out her arms. Luckily, Lilly provides an explanation in her caption. Essentially, she is performing postural exercises that might seem simple at a glance, but that include "lots of tiny details" like spreading the toes, tilting the skull, gaining three points of contact on the feet, and breathing into the ribs on the front, side, and back. Check out Lilly's post below:

Lilly also gets a bit personal and honest in her post, sharing the uphill battle towards her reprisal of Hope in Ant-Man 3. In her caption, she revealed that she has been suffering a physical breakdown for the past two years. The physical pain she has suffered is the result of years of misalignment, injury, and overworking. However, after 26 years of such pain, she says she is starting to feel her strength come back through foundation training that focuses on her base.

While it is exciting to get a peak into the superhero training of MCU actors, Lilly's honesty also displays the sacrifices that these actors make, physically and emotionally, to bring their roles to life. Once, Director Peyton Reed commented that Lilly trained harder than Rudd for Ant-Man 2, pushing herself to embody every single aspect of The Wasp and to make her stunts realistic. Lilly is an actress who truly strives to wholly embody her characters' essences and it has cost her much. However, her determination to overcome the physical toll on her body through foundation training is an inspiration to anyone who has suffered through chronic pain and recurring injuries. Seeing Lilly relentlessly and painstakingly push through her pain and injuries to embody The Wasp in Ant-Man 3, makes one reflect on what they can overcome through slow and gentle, but determined, effort.
