Ant-Man and the Wasp poster excerpt

With Avengers: Infinity War already smashing through box office records, Marvel Studios is wasting no time getting started on marketing for their next movie, with a new Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer releasing tomorrow. If you're as eager to see more of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne's (Evangeline Lilly) adventures as we are, you're probably wondering exactly what time to look out for the trailer.

We last saw Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War, where he was recruited for Team Cap and showed off his ability to turn into Giant-Man for the first time - a move that proved pivotal in giving Captain America and Bucky Barnes enough time to get away. That stunt landed Scott in a floating prison called the Raft, and during the events of Infinity War he is said to be absent on account of being on house arrest. However, the first teaser trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp revealed that he won't be able to stay out of trouble for long.

Evangeline Lilly revealed on Twitter that the new, full-length Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer will release on Tuesday, May 1. As the footage isn't releasing on Good Morning America (as far as we can tell, we expect that the Ant-Man and the Wasp trailer to release between 9am EST/6am PST and 12am EST/9am PST. It's possible that it could arrive a little later, but the studio usually likes to get trailers out early, giving people all day to buzz about them.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and the Wasp is set before the events of Avengers: Infinity War, so don't expect to see any fallout from that movie (except perhaps in a post-credits scene). Marvel tends to avoid overlapping marketing campaigns for their movies, but now that Infinity War is out we can expect to see a big push for Ant-Man and the Wasp in the lead-up to its release in July. Here's the official synopsis:

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes Ant-Man and The Wasp, a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a super hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

While we aren't yet sure what the "urgent new mission" is, we do know that it will somehow involve the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne, who will be played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Since Janet was lost in the Quantum Realm, this could well be a rescue mission, but there to thwart them along the way will be the movie's villain, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) , a masked mercenary with a super-suit of her own.
