Exclusive Ant-Man and the Wasp Clip: Watch Paul Rudd Become Janet van Dyne

See Paul Rudd impersonate Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet van Dyne in this exclusive Ant-Man and the Wasp clip. The moment Paul Rudd was cast as Scott Lang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it became immediately clear what tone his Ant-Man franchise would strike. Director Peyton Reed stepped in for the first film after Edgar Wright's departure and the collective team turned Ant-Man into a hit. Marvel Studios was so impressed that they rearranged the Phase 3 slate to get a sequel in, and promoted Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne to co-lead.

Ant-Man and the Wasp had a solid run at the box office and went on to make $622.3 million worldwide (up from Ant-Man's $519.3M haul), after receiving even better reviews with an 88% Rotten Tomatoes critics score. It has made fans eager to see a third installment, but also rewatch the movie to discover new Easter eggs.

That is easier now that it is available on Digital and Blu-ray, and we've got an exclusive clip to share. The video - featured in the space below - showcases one of Ant-Man and the Wasp's best gags, when Paul Rudd had to impersonate Michelle Pfeiffer due to Quantum Entanglement. Since the scene plays for laughs in the movie, that only made it that much more difficult for the actors to stay in character, as you'll see.

This is just one of several jokes from Ant-Man and the Wasp, but is no doubt one of the toughest ones to film. Not only did Rudd have to perfectly play the part as Pfeiffer would, but then it is up to Lilly and Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) to not crack up. But, even if they were able to not break, then it became a matter of properly portraying their characters in this circumstance. Lilly notes how she had to change the way she looked at Rudd, as she was used to looking at him with a romantic gaze but now had to look at him as if he was his mother.

Although this special featurette is not on the Ant-Man and the Wasp home video release, the various release methods have plenty of special features of their own. Reed sat down to do a director's commentary on the film, but he also spoke to Screen Rant separately as part of the Blu-ray release. The home release also includes the standard gag and blooper reels and a few deleted scenes included too. There's plenty of extra content for MCU fans to dig into on the Ant-Man and the Wasp home release, in addition to this exclusive clip.
