Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and The Wasp will have a big connection to Avengers 4. The most unique aspect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is how every film connects to the rest. That remains true with solo movies but also the bigger team ups. As far as the sequel to Ant-Man is concerned, it will have plenty of chances to connect to other films. The marketing has shown how it connects to and plays off the events of Captain America: Civil War, but it also has Thanos to deal with.

There has been plenty of speculation over how Ant-Man and The Wasp could play with the ending to Avengers: Infinity War to this point. A new TV spot confirmed that the movie takes place much closer to Infinity War than previously believed too. And while it may bridge the gap a tiny bit, it will also have a directly connection to next year's untitled Avengers 4.

Marvel Studios released a new featurette for Ant-Man and The Wasp centering around Evangeline Lilly's titular character, but studio president Kevin Feige couldn't help but tease the importance of the film and its stars. Confirming what has long been expected, Feige says this isn't just a fun standalone movie, but is a big part of what is coming next: "Ant-Man and The Wasp also connects directly to Avengers 4. These characters are going to be very important going forward."

It isn't a secret that Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Wasp are going to appear in Avengers 4, but their roles are just as mysterious as everything else that's surrounding the movie. Set photos have Ant-Man at the Battle of New York, while Lilly has said Wasp's role is a bit smaller. Still, the Avengers 3 & 4 writers teased this upcoming sequel is the most connected to Infinity War, so Feige stating it also has a major connection to Avengers 4 just goes to show how important Ant-Man and The Wasp may end up being.

How that comes to pass is up for debate at this point, but the most popular theory is thanks to the Quantum Realm. This featurette spends quite a bit of time talking about the Quantum Realm and the mission to rescue Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). But, there's plenty of speculation that this realm will be a major key to Avengers 4 and whatever plan the Avengers come up with to defeat Thanos. One of our own theories points to the Quantum Realm enabling time travel for the heroes. Its becoming more and more clear that Ant-Man and The Wasp will be anything close to a throwaway, non-consequential installment in the MCU. Thankfully there's only a few weeks left until everyone figures out how and why.
