The great Anne Hathaway is someone who has been fantastic in basically every genre that you can imagine. She was the focal point of a well-received romance in 2011's One Day, which is based on a 2009 novel of the same name written by David Nicholls, who also penned the screenplay.

One Day centers on Dexter Mayhew (Jim Sturgess) and Emma Morley (Hathaway) who meet on July 15. It tells the story of their relationship over two decades, only focusing on July 15 each year and where they stand at that time. The unique premise and performances of the leads made this a special film.

Adapting it for the big screen was always going to be a tall task but Tom Hooper and his incredible cast managed to pull it off to rave reviews. The main story is about Jean Valjean being hunted by a police officer in 19th-century France.

Even with the likes of Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe doing great work, it was Anne Hathaway who steals the show. She plays Fantine, a woman who becomes a sex worker to send money to her baby. Hathaway won an Oscar despite only being on screen for a short time.

It's the movie that turned Anne Hathaway into a star. Based on a young adult novel from 2000 of the same name, The Princess Diaries marked Hathaway's feature film debut playing an awkward teenager who discovers she's the heir to a European kingdom.

The story itself is delightful but it's Hathaway's lead performance that really makes it come together. She nails the shy teen vibe while also ensuring that the character is charming. Her chemistry with the iconic Julie Andrews is also as good as it gets.

Brokeback Mountain (2005) - 4.08

In her attempt to branch out into more serious and adult roles, Anne Hathaway landed a supporting part in Brokeback Mountain. The movie is a landmark in LGBTQ+ cinema and many argue to this day that Brokeback Mountain should've won Best Picture over Crash.

The film tells the story of two cowboys (Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal) who fall in love with each other while working together. Hathaway plays Laureen Newsome Twist, the wife of Gyllenhaal's Jack, and is one of the standouts of a great ensemble.

Interstellar (2014) - 4.22

Following her role as Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises, Anne Hathaway teamed up with Christopher Nolan again two years later for Interstellar. The epic sci-fi flick follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole to find a new home planet for mankind.

Although the space travel, trippy time-bending, and Nolan's direction are the selling points, it's the performances that everyone remembers. Matthew McConaughey has arguably never been better, while Hathaway is a standout as the genius Dr. Amelia Brand, and her quest for love helps ground the movie.
