Youth & Consequences star Katie Sarife has been cast in a leading role in the horror film Annabelle 3. Sarife's character will be one of the film's three protagonists. The other two have already been cast.
The Annabelle series originated as a spinoff of James Wan's The Conjuring, a film that told a story from the case files of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The success of The Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Conjuring 2 launched an entire Conjuring Universe, which has grown to include yet another spinoff, The Nun, a film that released last month to become the franchise's biggest hit to date. The next movie set in The Conjuring Universe is an untitled third installment in the Annabelle series.
Deadline reports that actress Katie Sarife has been cast as a friend of the Warrens' teenage babysitter, played by Madison Iseman. Iseman's character will be looking after the Warren's 10-year-old daughter, Judy (McKenna Grace). The three actresses will be the film's leads.
Gary Dauberman, who penned the scripts for the first two Annabelle movies and The Nun, will return to both write and direct Annabelle 3. The film will also see Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren, respectively. However, the Warrens will only be playing supporting roles, despite the fact that the film is expected to take place primarily in their home.
Annabelle 3 focuses on what happens after the Annabelle doll is put in a glass case at the Warren's household, where it was first glimpsed in The Conjuring. The doll is one of many haunted items kept under lock and key in the Warrens' artifact room, and possibly one of the most dangerous.
It appears that the film will center on supernatural activities that occur at a time when Ed and Lorraine are away from home. Instead, Judy, her babysitter, and Sarife's character will be the targets of Annabelle and any other ghosts or demons that might be involved. It's possible that one of the three characters will be responsible for letting Annabelle out of her case. When that happens, nothing may stop Annabelle from freeing the other haunted artifacts. Combined, they could prove to be the most dangerous threat The Conjuring Universe has ever seen. The worst part is that if the Warrens are out of town, the three girls may be trapped with Annabelle for quite some time, which will without a doubt result in a terrifying situation.
