In 2002, Anna Faris starred as April in Hot Chicks alongside Rob Schneider, who was nominated for a Razzie for his performance, and Rachel McAdams. Hot Chicks is a real freaky-Friday story. In this wacky film mean popular teen Jessica, played by Rachel McAdams, switches bodies with slimy thief Clive, played by Rob Schneider, thanks to a pair of cursed earrings.

Jessica is determined to get her body back before prom and enlists her friends, including April, in the conquest. Things don't go smoothly as they never do in these zany comedies but eventually Jessica and Clive are returned to their rightful bodies and all is well in the world.

While we all love Anna Faris and the rest of the cast, The Emoji Movie did not stack up with critics with its average 7% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However the movie did gross a total of $217 million. Love it or hate it, either way they got paid for this one.

Alley Darling in What's Your Number?

Ally and Colin reading something in What's Your Number?

What's Your Number? is the 2011 rom-com starring Anna Faris as relationship-challenged Alley Darling and Chris Evans as her promiscuous neighbor Colin Shea. When Alley reads an article stating that women who have slept with 20 or more men are unlikely to find their husband, she decides to give up sex until she meets her soulmate. Turns out Colin is the lucky number 20 she's been searching for.

While the movie itself did not receive rave reviews, Anna Faris' comedic acting did. On Rotten Tomatoes, the critical consensus was that Anna's comedic talents were wasted on What's Your Number? But who could turn down the opportunity to star in a rom-com with Chris Evans.

Zoey in Dictator

In 2012 Anna Faris changed up her hairstyle for the role of Zoey in Dictator. The brunette pixie is quite the change from Anna's normal long platinum blonde hairstyle. Zoey is a human rights activist who becomes the obsession of the fictional North Africa tyrannical dictator, Aladeen, played by Sacha Baron Cohen.

Dictator is widely inappropriate and incredibly crude and that's exactly why fans enjoyed it and certain critics hated it. It's even been banned from several countries, which proves that it is worth watching. Anna Faris' conservative mother probably loved the scene where Zoey teaches Aladeen how to masturbate. It's a movie that's fun for the whole family.

Samantha James in Just Friends

In 2005 Anna Faris starred alongside Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart in the rom-com Just Friends. Ryan Reynolds plays Chris Brander who was a high school nerd, but is now a successful record executive with a pop star girlfriend played by Anna Faris. Chris Brander returns home for the holidays and decides to win the heart of his high school crush and best friend Jamie, played by Amy Smart.

While Just Friends didn't receive the highest critical praise, Anna Faris shined in her role as over-the-top, self absorbed pop star Samantha James. If you're looking for a Christmas romantic comedy that is better than what's on Hallmark, this is the movie for you.

Kate in Overboard

Anna Farris and Eugenio Derbez in Overboard

In 1987 Hollywood dream couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn starred in the comedy Overboard. Over 40 years after its debut, Overboard was remade with Anna Faris starring as yacht maid Kate and Eugenio Derbez costarring as the yacht owner Leonardo.

In this fresh remake the roles reversed as this time the woman is the working-class single parent and the man is the spoiled wealthy elite. Once again the film did not receive 5 star reviews, but critics love Anna Faris regardless. Anna consistently receives high reviews despite the critics' general dislike for the films.

Sam Sparks in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

In 2009 Anna Faris made her voice over debut as weather intern Sam Sparks in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs The animated film tells the wacky story of inventor Flint, played by Bill Hader, who is unsuccessful until he creates the machine that turns water into food. Hallelujah, it's raining cheeseburgers! Flint and Sam team up to stop the mutating foods from drowning their town.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs earned several nominations for prestigious awards and grossed $243 million. It also earned high praises from LA Weekly, CinemaScore, and even has a 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Not bad for Anna's first voice over.

Cindy Campbell in Scary Movie

It's no wonder Anna Faris has starred in wacky films such as Dictator, Waiting, and Hot Chicks as her big break in 2000 was playing Cindy Campbell in the wildly hysterical and inappropriate Scary Movie. On her podcast Unqualified, Anna Faris was honest about how many actresses passed up the role due to the sperm scene, but Anna didn't find out about the scene until after she had already taken the role. Young naive Anna.

Even though she had to be stuck to the ceiling with sperm, the role got her into Hollywood and made her into the star she is today. The film received mix reviews from critics but it went on to create 4 more films in the series, proving that fans loved the insane, inappropriate humor.

Shelley Darlingson in House Bunny

Anna Faris became the "hot girl" in 2008 when she starred as playboy bunny Shelley Darlingson in House Bunny. Costarring with Anna was Emma Stone, Kat Dennings, Katherine McPhee, and Rumer Willis. When Shelley is kicked out of the playboy mansion, she stumbles onto a college campus where she joins a sorority filled with awkward girls.

The film placed second on its opening weekend as once again Anna Faris' comedic talent saves the day. While most critics did not love the film, they loved Anna Faris and John Anderson of Variety even stated the film should catapult Anne into stardom.

Christy Plunkett in Mom

Anna Faris has proven her chops when it comes to comedy films, but in 2013 she proved she has what it takes to be a sitcom star. In the CBS sitcom series Mom, Anna Faris stars as single mom and recovering alcoholic Christy Plunkett. Starring alongside Anna is Allison Janney as Christy's mom and also recovering alcoholic Bonnie Plunkett.

Mom is a hilarious and heartfelt series about the struggles of family, life, and addiction. The series has received consistent positive reviews as critics praise the performances of Allison Janney and Anna Faris. Mom was recently renewed for its eighth season so it doesn't appear that Anna Faris will be leaving Hollywood anytime soon.
