An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has revealed how to make one of the game's worst villager characters even worse after equipping Beardo with a cowboy shirt. Animal Crossing's many villagers are often rated by the community, and while the most popular characters can often change depending on trends, the title's least-liked villagers have stayed fairly consistent since the game launched in 2020.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is home to hundreds of villager NPCs that players can have move to their islands. Villagers are separated into different species and personality types, with the range including everything from household pets like cats and dogs, to even sea-dwelling characters like octopi. Players each have their own opinions on the title's many different animals, but rarer and newer NPCs like Shino the deer and Raymond the cat are generally considered to be among the most popular, while the more unconventional character designs of animals like Beardo, Barold, and Rodney tend to be some of the villagers players don't want on their ACNH island.
Redditor and Animal Crossing player lil_gingerale took to the ACNH subreddit to show just how one of the game's least-liked NPCs, Beardo, can look even worse when wearing a blue cowboy shirt. The image looks surprisingly NSFW, with Beardo's design underneath the shirt giving the appearance of some rather graphic nudity. The shirt almost perfectly matches Beardo's blue color, making the character appear naked. The post has been a success on Reddit, reaching over 20,000 upvotes at the time of writing.
Like lots of characters in the game, opinions on Beardo as a villager in Animal Crossing are mixed. While many dislike his mustache and sideburns, which look rather odd on a bear, others find the more unique design endearing. Lots of players favor villagers that look like their real-world counterparts, like the realistic-looking ACNH cat villager Lolly, while others prefer the more unique creations like Beardo, the robot villagers, and spooky characters like Lucky.
Whether a player enjoys Beardo or not, lil_gingerale has perhaps uncovered a way to make the ACNH villager even more divisive. Thanks to the many clothing items the game has, along with its hundreds of villagers, there are nearly endless combinations of clothing for the roster of anthropomorphic animals, and as such, there's likely lots more strange and hilarious outfit combinations waiting to be discovered. Many of these could make fan-hated characters like Animal Crossing: New Horizon's Beardo even more unlikable.
