An Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan recently showcased their use of the "Create a Sim" (CAS) feature in The Sims, which they utilized to create Sim-versions of the former game's villagers. The recently released Animal Crossing DLC, Happy Home Paradise, was likened to The Sims due to the additional features and locations fostering a comparatively more Sims-like town; as a result, the two social simulation games easily overlap in some areas.

The Sims community is no stranger to creating real people and video game characters using CAS. Some creative Sims players have recreated famous people or movie sets - and more - in-game. One player made an entire Sims cast of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and built an almost screen-accurate version of their mansion - all of which are available for players to download and play through on their own. These detail-oriented Sims are done with the help of custom content, which can include various hairstyles and other items in CAS to help users get the exact look they're aiming to achieve. With the different options and customization that CAS offers, players can spend hours tweaking their Sims to be the perfect replica of themselves - or of celebrities like Robin Williams or Adam Driver.

Recently, Reddit user disasterswife decided to create their favorite Animal Crossing villagers in The Sims. The six villagers they chose varied widely in style and personality, but the portraits and surroundings appears to have captured the aesthetic of each villager. Molly has her yellow dress on and is complete with a feather necklace, while Shino is styled with a kimono and has the exact same shade of eye-shadow on her eyelids. Raymond has his nose stuck in a book and disasterswife even recreated his two differently colored eyes. Cherry is surrounded by concert posters and rocking multiple ear piercings. Lastly, Fang is enjoying his campsite in his blue sweater and Audie is showing some sass with perfect white sunglasses. The final picture in the Reddit post shows all six of the Animal Crossing-inspired Sims side-by-side for a fun group photo.

While there are many crossovers between The Sims and other pieces of media, there is also an avid community in Animal Crossing that enjoys making crossovers in-game. Thanks to the Happy Home Paradise DLC, players have been able to create vacation homes inspired by Bob's Burgers, Frasier, and even one based on Andy's room in Toy StoryThere are many options in the new DLC that allow players to get creative and make homes that not only make the villager happy but also make the players happy.

There are a lot of players that enjoy both Animal Crossing and The Sims. While each game is drastically different, there are some similarities that encourage people to tap into their inner interior decorator side. Because of these creative similarities, it is no surprise that players wanted to recreate their favorite villagers in The Sims. While players patiently wait for The Simsto be announced, they can turn to Animal Crossing: New Horizons to get their creative fix.
