Several Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have crafted adorable crocheted versions of their favorite villagers with great detail and shared them online for other fans to see. Animal Crossing's community is filled with an abundance of creativity, with players designing in-game clothing or turning their deserted islands into breathtaking retreats. However, this creativity can also spill over to real life.

It is clear why Animal Crossing crafters would want to crochet villagers like Marshal, Merengue, or the aptly-named patchwork cub Stitches. Fan-favorite villagers can make great plush toys because of their cute designs. While Build-A-Bear’s Animal Crossing collection left some fans disappointed, independent crocheters and curious hobbyists have taken up the mantle. Many creative fans of Animal Crossing got to work, sharing patterns, stitching away, and proudly displaying their works online.

Animal Crossing fans craftycastalia, jenlikesrocks, and harrybenney took to Reddit to share their crocheted villagers. They received positive feedback, with each post gaining over 2,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments from impressed Animal Crossing players. Craftycastalia crocheted a goat villager inspired by Black Phillip, the demonic antagonist from the 2015 horror film, The Witch. Created from a Sherb pattern, this deliciously devilish villager comes complete with a pentagram sweater. Meanwhile, jenlikesrocks has crafted an adorable Celeste. The stargazing owl has a felt belly made up of pink and white squares, which gives her a very nice touch. Finally, Harrybenney crocheted the frog villager, Lily. Everything from her rosy cheeks to the pineapples on her tropical muumuu has been stitched together in great detail.

While many Animal Crossing players would undoubtedly love to get their hands on these unique creations, unfortunately, some of them have already found good homes and are not for sale. Animal Crossing has crossed over into the real world plenty of times with collaborations. The Build-A-Bear crossover was a success, as were the ColourPop makeup and Uniqlo. An upcoming collaboration with PUMA that will introduce a new line of sneakers is also sure to be a hit for Animal Crossing fans.

These wholesome creations are a delight to see. The stitchwork in each of these crocheted villagers is impressive. This, or the Ironwood Dresser built in real life, can inspire other gamers to create something of their own, whether it would be fan art or a complete overhaul of their island. Creative players are why Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to be popular despite being out for more than a year with a lack of any substantial updates recently. Until then, there is no shortage of artistic expression coming from the community.
