Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 introduced the long-awaited Brewster, the gyroid-loving pigeon who runs a café called The Roost. His café can be opened in the Museum once players update their games to the 2.0 version and speak with Blathers, who will ask them to find Brewster on an island tour.

Brewster is known for being a bit shy and, like Sable, players will have to speak with him enough to get him to open up. When The Roost first opens, players will only have the option to order coffee by sitting at the counter unless they invite a friend from another island or an Amiibo villager to sit at the larger tables. A cup of coffee costs 200 Bells, and villagers as well as other NPCs will take a break to visit the café at random.

However, after speaking with Brewster enough, players will get him to warm up to them enough to serve them coffee to-go at the counter near the door. This will add a takeout coffee to their pockets, allowing them to take their cup of joe on the go and drink it wherever they’d like.

How To Order Coffee To-Go From The Roost in Animal Crossing

Players can order coffee to-go from Brewster's Roost in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

To unlock the option to order coffee to-go at Brewster’s Roost, players must order a cup of coffee by sitting in his café for three days in a row. On the first day, the player will drink coffee automatically once it’s purchased. On the second day, however, Brewster will advise the player that it’s best to drink coffee while it’s fresh, before it cools.

The player will have an option to either take his expert advice and drink it immediately or refuse and say that it’s too hot to drink. After ordering coffee for three days in a row and drinking it while it’s hot, Brewster will tell them that they will be welcome to order coffee to-go at the counter to the right.

Players will have to wait a day before they are able to order at the counter. After speaking with Brewster once and getting a slightly warmer welcome than usual, players can start ordering coffee to-go here for 300 Bells a cup. Like other foods in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, drinking takeout coffee will give the player energy to break rocks and dig up trees. One cup has three sips, and players can buy as many cups as they’d like despite Brewster’s warnings about the dangers of drinking too much caffeine.
